Daks probable season ending injury could save McCarthy's job

I don’t think it does anything of the sort. Jerry has been experiencing fan apathy for the first time, and the media has been ruthless regarding the job he has done. More and more, you are hearing the media tell it like it is…(that Jerry is more about staying in the news than building a winner). He hears that. He needs to be able to refill his canister of snake oil because the one he’s been selling is stale

And that would require a change he can sell. There will be a new coach.
We’ve had fan apathy before. And the media has ripped Jethro before too.

Also remember I said his injury could save his job. Key word “ could”.

No better excuse than to lose your starting QB. Look how pitiful our offense was today.
It's been pitiful all season. Losing Dak didn't help or the offense, it was business as usual today, just with a different loser QB behind center.

Assuming he won’t be back or missing an extended time beyond Thanksgiving which doesn’t make any sense to bring him back at all since season is all but over.

We all know with a healthy Dak for entire season and a losing record can’t see a way McCarthy could survive. This could be his get out of jail free card.

Jethro & Son probably will just extend him for one season. And he’ll be expected to return to playoff form on Daks return next year.

Our offense with Dak and previous regular season is somewhat tied to McCarthy’s offense and play calling since the Pizza Boy left. And Jethro won’t want to separate his HC from his 2023 runner up MVP. Not yet anyway. But he’ll be on a short leash.

This should give Cowboy fans even more to frown over with hopes for new blood at the helm. But since we’ll be stuck with Dak anyway, why not his partner in crime. Lol
If this wasn't McCarthy's last year of his contract I could see that. However, I can't see him being resigned to a new deal with what we saw this year and prior playoff exits.

Rush had 48 passing yards on 36 attempts. Lol

Regardless how much Dak struggles or chokes it isn’t this bad .

We obviously have no chance without him.

If we think our biggest problem is our HC we should fire him tomorrow. Coaching isn’t our problem

It was definitely more pitiful. We probably won’t win another game .

With Dak and defensive injuries returning had a chance to hover around .500

what happened?

and i just assume they let his deal expire and look elsewhere. i don’t know who’s id realistically like. belichek feels like the most likely jones splash, but i just don’t know how that works out. i’m not sold on ben jonson whatsoever. flores is intriguing
He was talking about securing free agents (Dak and Ceedee) in April before the draft. Then you go into the draft looking to fill other holes. LIke it or not, their late signings did distract the team.

No chance of what? Winning some games or deeper playoff runs .
Of winning the SB. That's what we're in for, right? That's what the overall goal should be. And that's the goal you're supposed to build your strategy around.

I'm ok with them handing out that first big contract. Back then it felt still possible. Surround him with able players and chances are good.

In 2024 everyone should have understood, that he's not the guy you should build around. I blame Jerry as much as the next guy. But it all starts and ends with the QB. Find your QB and give him an o line. Then define your Superbowl window and add the missing pieces accordingly. For the final run even invest your draft picks. Rinse, repeat.

Dak has never opened that window for us. Keeping him was forgivable the first time. I stood behind him at the time. But it's been nothing but ridiculous in 2024.

No chance of winning any of the remaining games except for the Giants and Panthers. You keep acting like the offense has not been equally disastrous as the defense. The team looked basically the same with everyone healthy.

They just don’t get to always play teams that struggle scoring 15 points per game. Justin Fields with half an oline in Pitt, Daniel Jones and co in NY, Deshaun Watson with no OTs or Chubb in Cleveland. I’m sensing a pattern here.

No . I’m just saying cause it would be just like Jethro to give him another shot simply cause injury provides excuse.

And remember Jethro thinks this team is still good enough to be a contender with Dak.
The team has quit on McCarthy and it was before the Dak injury.

The team is unprepared every week. The offense is the worst in the league. McCarthy gives this team nothing at this point.

Did u hear what Parsons said after the game regarding McCarthy?

There is a 0 pct chance that McCarthy is given an extension.

Maybe a 1 pct chance since Jerry is so stubborn. The fans are sick of the team so Jerry could very well give him an extension to piss them off more. He is thst stubborn.
