Here is a comparison of Dak vs Romo in a contract year. The stats are for the season prior to the contract year. Romo was treated like Jerry's son while Dak has been treated like an unproven rookie. Double standard, plain and simple and Dak's numbers and wins are better than Romo's.

In 2013, Romo signed a a six-year, $108 million contract extension with $55 million in guarantees and a $25 million signing bonus. This contract extension saw Romo make just $1.2 million less than HOF, 2-time Super Bowl Champ Peyton Manning.

Meanwhile in 2023, Dak outplayed Romo in most of the important stats except total yards as shown below. Romo was never questioned or ever in a "prove it" season like Dak is facing this season as Romo was Jerry's adopted son and treated as such. In 2023 Dak played one more game than Romo's 2012 season but only had 9 interceptions to Romo's 19. Ouch!!

2023 Dak's led the Cowboys to an 12-5 season and was 2nd in NFC MVP Voting
CMP ATT Yards Comp% AVG TD INT Long Sack RTG QBR Carries Yds Avg TD Long
410 590 4,516 69.5 7.7 36 9 92 39 105.9 72.7 55 242 4.4 2 22

2012 Romo led the Cowboys to an 8-8 season
CMP ATT Yards Comp% AVG TD INT Long Sack RTG QBR Carries Yds Avg TD Long
425 648 4,903 65.6 7.6 28 19 85 36 90.5 64.6 30 49 1.6 1 15

Romo continues to be revered like he won a divisional playoff game or something, while Dak is reviled by the Fuhrer and half of the fan base. Go figure?

Geez man I've never seen so much hyperbole in one post.

Just find out where Dak is staying and serenade him outside the window.

When you right.....you right. Good post.

Romo never had to work this hard for a deal. For some reason Jaylen Smith, Tyrone Crawford, Romo, Sean Lee walk into their deals. But for some odd reason Dak has to claw to get his money, Zeke has to hold out, Demarco didn't even get one, Schultz didn't get one(thankfully), Dez had lies brought out about him and made him beg, D-Law.....wonder how they go about paying guys and they don't.......very weird. Guess they have their favorites.

Dak is not being punished by a double standard IMO. You are setting up a false comparison IMO.

He is being criticized for his failures in the playoffs and the fans that are unhappy with him simply don’t believe he will be able to win when it matters most. While he cannot control what the rest of the team does— he damn well controls how he plays, and he has simply not played his best ball when the team has really needed him to. He will have to own that fact and deal with the fanbases growing frustration with his playoff failures.

Throw in the fact that he Wally Pipped Romo and has done no better than Tony in the playoffs (with better teams the last 3 seasons) while simultaneously demanding to be paid top dollar (again) — and you can start to see why resentment has built up over the years.

If you can't win in the regular season, how do you win in the playoffs?

Is it better to be 0-0 in the playoffs as a QB?

Please make it make sense, some how.

Lol… “make it make sense”

I don’t see anyone bashing Dak’s regular season record. He has played well and made his name that way.

All the issues come down to his repeated choke jobs in the postseason. If past performance is the best indicator of future performance— why would we pay him more for the same results?

The fans that are critical of him just don’t believe him to be capable at this point of getting it done. And when he tells us all to just “move on” from the GB debacle— it shows he is not really in touch with how many times he and the team have crapped the bed since he took the reins

Do you comprehend it is a team sport? Or do you believe football is 1 on 1, QB vs QB?

What is Zach Martin's record in the playoffs?

I guess the other teams RG has been out playing
Zach in the playoffs right? I mean if it is QB vs QB, it must RG vs RG correct?

How about Micah's record?

Wins are definitely a team stat. It's stupid to apply a record to a QB or any individual player.

However, we can look at individual performance...that's where Dak has faltered.

Because you are going to have play good teams in the playoffs. You generally don't get to fluff up your playoff record. But ocassionally you will get to beat up on a team that shouldn't have been there like Tampa.

So it's better to not make the playoffs?
