Here is a comparison of Dak vs Romo in a contract year. The stats are for the season prior to the contract year. Romo was treated like Jerry's son while Dak has been treated like an unproven rookie. Double standard, plain and simple and Dak's numbers and wins are better than Romo's.

In 2013, Romo signed a a six-year, $108 million contract extension with $55 million in guarantees and a $25 million signing bonus. This contract extension saw Romo make just $1.2 million less than HOF, 2-time Super Bowl Champ Peyton Manning.

Meanwhile in 2023, Dak outplayed Romo in most of the important stats except total yards as shown below. Romo was never questioned or ever in a "prove it" season like Dak is facing this season as Romo was Jerry's adopted son and treated as such. In 2023 Dak played one more game than Romo's 2012 season but only had 9 interceptions to Romo's 19. Ouch!!

2023 Dak's led the Cowboys to an 12-5 season and was 2nd in NFC MVP Voting
CMP ATT Yards Comp% AVG TD INT Long Sack RTG QBR Carries Yds Avg TD Long
410 590 4,516 69.5 7.7 36 9 92 39 105.9 72.7 55 242 4.4 2 22

2012 Romo led the Cowboys to an 8-8 season
CMP ATT Yards Comp% AVG TD INT Long Sack RTG QBR Carries Yds Avg TD Long
425 648 4,903 65.6 7.6 28 19 85 36 90.5 64.6 30 49 1.6 1 15

Romo continues to be revered like he won a divisional playoff game or something, while Dak is reviled by the Fuhrer and half of the fan base. Go figure?
when are we gonna stop doing this romo versus dak thing? you don't have to choose you don't have to pick a side they're both very well known and great DC QBS.. SMH BTW this one's easy how did Prescott do in 2020 his other contract year? broke his ankle, still got paid top market money, who cares what anther player did. stats not needed resume soke for itself for both players.

Everything you stated was facts. There are going to be a lot of ruffled feathers up in here.

Nobody even brings up Romo outside of Dakolytes swinging at strawmen. Also, Dak faced the weakest pass defense schedule in the league during his "big year."

The craziest part is comparing QB stats 14 seasons apart as if the rules of the game are the same. Someone prove to me with stats that Dak is better than Marino.

Lot of hate in you still from Romo. You think 3 playoff stinkers had anything to do with it. Too many Romo shouldn’t have gotten the extension. Maybe Jerry has learned something from his mistakes but I doubt it. Dak is the ultimate choker, everyone but the blind can see it. Is there some point to your post or some kind of hidden message. Don’t worry Jerry will sign Mr. Almost and he will continue to shrink and disappear in big games and you can take pride in your support of a loser.

Poster of this thread is no surprise.

Remind me how the nfc east looked back then to the joke it is now (outside eagles):

The deadskins werent absolute pushovers to put 40pts on every year
Giants had a crazy defense
Iggles were always a pain

And compare offensive lines, we had just drafted some good ones but it peaked in 2014 and dak has benefitted from it since.

Jason garrett was still there and we didnt have a dan quinn to make our defense not a joke.

Also every year the league makes it easier to have more gaudy passing numbers, and protection for qbs.
Its why romo shattered aikmans numbers even though aikman was a really good qb in a powerhouse offense, and its why dak will surpass romo too.

I thought romo was overpaid, but in terms of the mvp talk, this was the weakest class of qbs this year, llamars mvp is kinda a joke.
Meanwhile in 2012 you had Prime brady, brees, mannings, RG3, rivers, rodgers.

The numbers can be correct but they dont tell the whole story.
But who wants to be fair to both sides on these boards lately?

Would never say Romo was revered and Dak hated…that’s selective memory.
Plenty of people hated on Romo throughout for his timely INTs and playoff lack of success…which is EXACTLY the problem with Dak and EXACTLY why we ditched Romo for Dak.
I also don’t think Romo ever asked for the largest roster-crushing contract in NFL history so that makes a difference too. I’d say they got treated about equally by fandom and FO.
The problem is really that we have buffoons in the FO calling the shots that think they are wizard-level FO execs when they are actually toddler level in every aspect. The worst FO would’ve handled these contracts vastly better than this one did.

Now the problem here is trying to do the Romo versus dak again.. It doesn't matter Romo was hated on by a whole other half of this fan base... The same things were said about him this is becoming like political... There's absolutely no need to pick a side there's no need to make a comparison... The only thing that matters is what the front office believes in Prescott I believe he does they're going to try to get something done and hopefully we get all three of our superstars signed by next year and we're not talking about this we'll be talking about something else...

Do you comprehend it is a team sport? Or do you believe football is 1 on 1, QB vs QB?

What is Zach Martin's record in the playoffs?

I guess the other teams RG has been out playing
Zach in the playoffs right? I mean if it is QB vs QB, it must RG vs RG correct?

How about Micah's record?
Can you comprehend why QB is the position that gets paid 3x more than a RG?

C’mon man. It is most definitely a team sport— but let’s not pretend that quality QB play isn’t one of the most important difference makers in the entire sport.

And let’s not let Dak off the hook either. He has acknowledged himself he needs to play better.

The rest of us are just waiting for him to actually do it. You seem fine crossing your fingers and hoping a blind squirrel will finally find that nut.

You and JJ would get along great lol
