Daks the only reason the Cowboys had a chance

Maybe Dak expected GP to go towards the back side edge of the goal, meanwhile GP thought to go towards the inside goal cone? Could have been miscommunication. Or like Schottenheimer said, he had told Dak if it wasn't there what he wanted (route), just throw it way overhead away in order not to risk an interception but still tie the game with a FG and take it into overtime.
If thats what Schottenheimer said. Why call the dumb timeout with 14 seconds left?

It appears GP ran the right route and clearly was open. Dak just, for some reason, didn't make the throw and instead chucked it away.

Schotty saying what he said is nothing more than trying to cover for his QB in that spot. I bet if you were a fly on the wall in film review, they all agree that throw needs to be made.

I thought I saw him before the play, signing the ball. After the game, he demanded that the kid he beaned in the head pay him 500 dollars for it. shrugs. This guy will do anything for money, except win.

The bigger issue is who else will work for Jerry?
The only kind of competent man who would work for Jerry is a Bill Parcells or Jimmy type. A proven champion who is looking for another challenge even though they already reached the top of Everest. Amundsen comes to mind. Discovered the North-West Passage, South Pole and probably the North Pole. Died in the middle of the arctic probably in a plane crash long after he should have stopped cheating death.

Other than that, a competent man knows there's only a 5% chance of winning with this self-sabotaging idiot and the best thing to do is not let him tarnish your record. Ben Johnson screams head coach. Dan Campbell. These guys are out there...competent serious leaders of men.

Jerry got the guy who wears a backwards sun visor.

There's plenty to criticize with the play calling (again) and execution. But a team doesn't give up 34 points, have other opportunities throughout the game, and then suddenly make one quarterback bad throw the sole reason they lost.

I'm perfectly fine with criticizing Dak when he deserves it. I just think being objective means giving him credit when he deserves it too. While acknowledging he made some boneheaded plays, Dak did plenty to give Dallas a chance to win.
lol. throwing it 40 ft over a top WR head who had 3 yards of space for the game winning TD is not "some boneheaded play". rushing up the middle in a playoff game as time runs out is not "a passing boneheade play"

most NFL games come down to 1 possession. That is what he is paid to do. He plays scafed and not to lose versus playing to win.

show me where you see Brady, mahomes, manning brees being down 3 and having the ball at the 4 and playing for a tie by airmailing a ball over a wideopen receivers head

This is the frustrating part, for me at least. I believe Pickens had all of his 82 yards in the second half of the game on eight catches. Dak was slinging it to him in double coverage at times trusting Pickens and Pickens was delivering. He is arguably one the best receivers in the game for contested balls. It's why he was brought in. Dallas appeared to be going for the jugular on that drive. I understand that false start was a killer. But you have to go for the win. You defense secondary is in shambles at this point in the game. Did anyone else think they were going to win in OT, I sure didn't. I blame both the coach and quarterback for that gutless decision and throw out of bounds. The coach should have told him, go win this game, not pretty please don't turn the ball over. And Dak should have thrown to Pickens, trusting his receiver. Absolutely a lot of things happened for them to lose this game. Dak and the offense did a great job getting them down there, but they didn't finish. Sometimes your stars have to be stars and win the game...that didn't happen. Do the Cowboys have another QB right now on the roster they can win with, no probably not. But they chocked this game away. Hopefully next week is better.

If it’s the play I’m thinking of he threw it in the dirt on purpose.

Him and the rest of the offense kept coming from behind to take the lead despite the terrible play calling. Even tied the game with 7 seconds to go. Yes he should not have thrown it away but it never should’ve gotten to that point. Anyone putting the blame on Dak for the loss is just a Dak hater and not being objective about what happened yesterday.

Go Cowboys!

That was a long time ago. They both bailed on him. And I think Wade finished off any chance Jerry had of getting anyone like them again.

If he's not going to make an easy throw like that, what's the point of having him ? A qb that panics under the pressure...yea that's going to get us to a sb. People keep telling me that Dak is elite. Well elite qbs make that throw.
Hate to bust the bubbles but Dak is not an elite quarterback. He is a good tier 2 qb.

You say he wasn’t 100 % to blame and then you blame him what seems like 100 %
No Rocky read what I wrote that Brian schottenheimer was mostly responsible and I also mentioned the kicker spoon maker Terrance Steel and the shovel pass.

Stop twisting things to your narrative.

But yes Dak had a big part in the loss.
I've come to the conclusion at this point that you are the true hater.

Because you hate on anybody that constructively criticizes the team.

Constructive criticism leads to proper evaluation of the problems and causes of our failures.

Jerry said they have no explanation without an explanation of what went wrong how do you fix it.

You hate on anybody that wants to fix this team and see it be successful.

You remind me of Kevin Bacon's character in animal House saying everything is fine well it's not stop living in denial.

You are supporting the problem not the solution

Dont forget that Dak would have thrown an interception on the drive only for a missed OPI call.

Might be the most accurate post ever on this site.

No, I don’t like haters who do NOTHING but hate on the Cowboys 24x7. You use to not be that way, but like many, many others you’ve bowed down to the haters and joined them. It takes strength and perseverance to stand up to them. Most here don’t have it.
