Perfect, and it was right there in front of their faces.

Also at this rate, romo will be playing his final years with the Vikings and Jets

That's really taking a lot for granted, based mainly upon preseason glory. I seriously doubt the Cowboys organization will prove to be that fickle, in view of Romo's past contributions. Let's see how they do vs. the Seahawks and perhaps in the regular season first before getting too trigger-happy.

I think Dak has played great. Not surprised, loved how he played as soon as I watched film on him.

But I also think this offense is really just clicking. This offensive line (Even when missing Smith) is growing together and they are all very talented. Dez seems even more focused this year, it seems he's playing with a bigger chip on his shoulder. Reports are Williams is playing damn well in camp. Bulter (Outside of that poor route her ran) is fitting into our offense nicely. Morris is playing like he'd be a starter on multiple teams in this league, and he'll most likely be sharing a lot of carries with Zeke at this point. Romo seems to have more zip on his throws.

It just seems that everything is clicking. Sadly, I wish we could say the same about the defensive side. That D-line could be the death of our team, at least for the first 4 games. Carr is still Carr, will lock down a receiver for a little while then give up a big play. But Claiborne at least looks to be coming into his own finally after we saw flashes of it last year, really excited for him.

I have a good feeling about this year though offensively. I think we are going to tear up the league and I don't want to hear "vanilla defenses", because offenses across the league have been struggling against these "vanilla defenses". The only other team I've seen moving the ball like us is the Patriots.

sorry, I should have added the disclaimer

"THIS IS A JOKE I AM ONLY KIDDING AND DO NOT THINK THAT TONY ROMO WILL PLAY FOR THE VIKINGS AND JETS I AM ONLY DRAWING A PARALLEL TO AARON RODGERS AND BRETT FAVRE FOR COMEDIC EFFECT AND TO PRAISE DAK IN A SILLY WAY"

Granted, a disclaimer would've been helpful (although, not necessarily in caps) -- you'd be surprised how many posters here might say the same in all seriousness. I see you're relatively new here. Not everyone on this site respects what Romo is and has done in the past. It happens . . .

In fairness alot of people were impressed with Dak leading into draft and felt he was steal in 4th round.
Actually, it was the opposite. While they did not label him a bad quarterback, even after he was drafted, all the media kept calling him was a "developmental quarterback" saying it would take him at least 2-3 years to learn a pro system.

And I wasn't even awake yet.

Gotta completely disagree with the second part of that post though.

Yep.

And some thought he was a "throw-a-way" pick.

We know who they are also.

That posted... It's still early in the game.

Well taken thoughts, although some were fully appreciative of the pick and some weren't. Having said as much, though, it kinda chapped me how many were comparing him to Tim Tebow when there was actually a world of difference in their deliveries. If only those that said he'd take 2-3 years to acclimate to the pro game had any clue how he'd turn out, they might well have chosen to sew their mouths shut and push themselves away from their computers. -- lol

Here's a kid who has exceeded all expectations -- that's for doggone sure! I couldn't be more excited for the guy and the team for their good fortune in drafting him. It was quite an unexpected blessing that he'd blossom as quickly as he has. Here's hoping it continues onward and upward.

Yeah that's not just here, Romo for the most part is still severely under appreciated in general. I thought that linking him to Favre would be a good indicator I was kidding though. Anyway, Romo is the man (favorite all time Cowboy) and Dak looks to be a lightning rod for excitement moving forward. Just be better than Wentz.

I have to admit that the Favre reference went right over my head, but I had just crawled out of bed.

Good thoughts -- all indications at present are encouraging that Dak will rival, if not surpass, the best of those QBs taken before him. All due credit goes to the scouts and whomever else might have been involved in his acquisition. I couldn't be more excited about it and am quite sure there are many fans and folks in the Dallas organization that are floating on cloud nine right about now. It would seem our cup runneth over with this guy.

He looks good, but it's hard to really tell anything in preseason. Regardless, maybe we'll be lucky and when Romo's done, he can instantly step right in.

your absolutely right. I should have been more specific. Sports media were calling him developmental. The draft analyst I follow were saying all along he would surprise people once in NFL.

Dallas deserves to catch a break like this assuming it pans out like we hope. We'd usually be more likely to be the team mortgaging our futures for a guy, while a division rival scooped up a comparable talent in the 4th. I'm going to be loving this for a looooooong time provided Dak can keep it up. Delirious.

True stuff, although with each passing game, I'm becoming more appreciative of his presence as a Cowboy. There's much to be done to solidify his status in the long run but even the most skeptical of us might do well to admit that the arrow is really pointing up with this kid. May it continue . . .

I completely agree. If he's legitimately going to be good, think how good he'll be after a couple seasons of learning.

It looks like Dallas has found their backup QB. Romo as a backup, who saw that coming?
