FWIW-Romo didn't go undrafted for nothing. I remember when the QB controversy came up in '06 when Bledsoe started choking it up, Jean-Jacques Taylor WARNED us about him.

I don't buy this. Going undrafted means nothing now. Players like Romo have a body of work in the NFL that supersedes anything done in college. Are we starting Carpenter or benching Ratliff or releasing Scandrick based on where they were drafted?

Unless you're saying Romo went undrafted because teams feared he'd post NFL record numbers from September to November, only to fall off in December. Which I doubt.

Bad example.

Because the first week of december in 92, the cowboys lost to washington. It was their last loss of the year. The loss kept washington, the defending champs in the hunt.

We lost in this manner.

we had the ball with the opportunity to go win the game, aikman hit irvin on a skinny post and irvin fumbled with washington recovering.

The defense then made a 4 play goalline stand, stopping rypien and the skins from the 1 on 4th down.

Aikman tried to throw out of the endzone, fumbled, emmit tried to pick it up and run with it and fumlbed, the skins recovered for a td and won the game.

so bad example. Cause that game was like this one.

I think emotionally this team took a hit today and why the offense couldnt get aligned right constantly, especially the wr after 10 days to prepare for a game is beyond me.

However, if we can get these next two home games we will be in good shape heading to philly.
That is an excellent comparison.

Now, I'll take the primetime 42-17 victory that ensued the week after, thank you very much. ;)

I read somewhere that he didn't win a playoff game in his 3 tries in college. I hope I read it wrong, but if it's true, it's not something to sneeze at.

1992 playoffs...4:22 left in the game. Norv Turner calls a slant play (Ace Right 896 F Flat) Alvin Harper makes the catch and goes 70 yards to ice the game.

Exactly who on this team has the guts and killer instinct to make that kind of call...and the killer instinct to execute the play on offense?

And that killer instinct is also lacking on defense and special teams.

I have no interest in breaking down individual plays in this game in search of a reason for why we lost.

This loss, just like the playoff game vs the Giants last year, was not about a single play or even a few plays...because it is my strong opinion that even IF Romo didn't throw that INT for a Steeler TD, we would have come up with a different way to lose. Losers do that.

There is something very wrong with his team during crunch time...and it has been that way dating back to when Parcells was here.

1992...Jimmy Johnson.

2008...Wade Phillips.

It's that simple.

I wish it were. This team's problems precede Wade Phillips. I loathe the guy as a head coach, but I'm not convinced replacing him will make a darn bit of difference.

By next year, Wade will be in New Orleans, and the Saints D will be wrecking havoc on their opponents, while we will have Bill Cowher, and our same problems that we've had over the last 5 years will continue.

Jimmy Johnson was right when he said firing the coach isn't exactly the solution. You're going to have to look at the ENTIRE organization-whether the FO, player personnel, etc. Personally, I think the main problem is the mentality of the player personnel.
