OK... have you watched refs this year? Philly had a game where they had NO calls against them... refs have bias whether they are supposed to or not, they are human... even if it isn't specifically against a team, it is possible a coach or player pisses them off so they watch things tighter.

So they love Philly and hate the Cowboys and Miami, is that how it works? Or was that game against Miami really just to bury us more because they really hate us and thus love our division mates?

I'm too lazy analyze this but does this mean that McCarthy had 100+ penalty teams in greater than 53% of his time in Green Bay, give or take a few tenths of a percentage?

Yep. Four additional seasons were within 15 total penalty yards of going over the century mark also.

How about doing Dallas from 2022 (last full season) to as far back as it goes (or 2006 at least)?

In 2021 we had 127 penalties and 1103 yards

In 2022 we had 104 penalties and 842 yards

These are both in 17 games. So i guess its safe to say, the penalties are a McCarthy issue

This feature helps in getting those penalties onto the carpet...

Against Philadelphia in Week 9, the Cowboys gave up back-to-back touchdown drives after the half. The first went for 60 yards and the second for 87; the Eagles’ longest drive of the day...

At an average of 2.2 touchdowns allowed per game, the Cowboys don’t give up many touchdowns. But lately a disproportionate amount of them have come early in the third quarter, just after offenses make their halftime adjustments.

It seems no matter how far the momentum is leaning towards the Cowboys before the half, opposing offenses have little issue reclaiming that momentum on their first one and/or two possessions after the half.

Offenses are clearly winning the adjustment battle against Dan Quinn and his defense at the break, making it a situation to watch in coming weeks. While the Cowboys offense is playing great right now, it doesn’t mean the defense can cough up points early every third quarter.

I'm not worried about the game on Sunday at all. But one thing to keep an eye out for is penalties. This needs to get cleaned up before the playoffs. I thought the Cowboys were going to work on reducing penalties last off season!

well apparently, you need to let the refs know this is unacceptable. seems to be home cooking.... hard to avoid when it's lopsidedly being called

Tells more about the inconsistency of the officiating.
Amen,,, many of those "lining up in the neutral zone" calls and that Philly call on Tyler for getting off one millisecond before the count are such BS. Watch all the other games and there's linemen getting up and backpedaling waaay early and there's DL with their helmets and hands aligned with the freaking ball with no calls being made. If they can't be consistent on easy crap like that then I'm guessing they don't want to be consistent, this gives them leeway to manage the game.

2000-2022 Number of Seasons with 100 or more penalties

Green Bay: 11
Dallas: 18

2000-2022 Number of Seasons with 80 or less penalties

Green Bay: 4
Dallas: 0

BTW, this is through multiple coaches per team, so why the disparity? Shouldn't it be much closer to equal on both counts over that amount of time?

Bold> Especially when you are lined within four yards of the center on the defensive side of the line. Those offside penalties bug me the most.

Your hand is on the ground. Just look to your left or right and find the ball. It is not rocket science.
Ah man twice in the last two seasons Im screaming at the TV to back up and both were called and accepted.

A fan on the couch should never be able to see that happen in advance but not one player or coach cannot.

Again, same as above so why the disparity rather than be nearer to equal over a 23 year period through multiple coaches?

I mean, GB and Pitts are closer to equal with each other yet Dallas is way out of range of them in both categories.

Is Jerry Jones solely responsible for the penalties over a 23 year period of time?

Is it rational to believe that he is?

What other possible explanation is there?

Inconvenient truths?
