Signed by Cowboys **** Dallas Cowboys Announce Mike McCarthy Press Conference Thread *****

I was in a meeting and looking at the screen. Could help notice how big MM is and I thought

Jerry got rid of his puppet and got himself a teddy bear

LOL

This thread could have been 3 pages long if not for the same "JJ is <insert same old phrase over and over here>"/ "MM is fat" type ridiculous posts this forum is known for

He's like a fatter Bill Parcells.

So that means Cobb will be back? Lol

Depending on Cobb accepting a deal similar to what he had last season. Cobb wants to be in Dallas, heck even his wife loves Dallas and is looking to hire in at law firm in Dallas.

In all seriousness, I hear that McCarthy is looking to go on Slim Fast.

He plans on using it to wash down double cheeseburgers.

I felt McCarthy did a good job in their presser and now it is time to get to work. He will be meeting with players and no doubt will be reviewing a lot of film of this past season so he can get a better feel for what he has and what he feels he will need. I liked the fact he is not looking to just compete his goal is winning it all and made that clear.

Was I the only one that thought that Stephen had a really nervous and uncomfortable laugh during the press conference?

Rather awkward to say the least.

Felt a lot more like the Parcells hire than the puppet wade and garrett hires and presser. I like that he did not hesitate when asked about building his own staff. Its been a long time since I was this optimistic. And Bill took over a cap strapped talentless team. Mike walks into a great spot.

Coaching in GB is a pretty big stage, hell SB trophy is named after a packers HC. Like Dallas, GB has a long and rich history

Green Bay has a lot of fans and a national following just like Dallas does, but being the coach of the Packers is NOTHING like being the coach of the Cowboys.

The local press cover the Packers are more like a college team, rarely critical (I mean how can they dump on the only thing going on in Green Bay?), never probing, and mostly cream puff questions.

The sheer isolation of the place (even Milwaukee reporters have to travel 2+ hours to get there) and lack of any owner looking over one's shoulder allows a coach to pretty much go about his business without anyone questioning him.

It will be very, very interesting to see how Mac responds to the much increased scrutiny he will be under while coaching America's Team.
