First time they faced off was the 1970 NFC championship.

It was the Ciwboys powerful running game featuring Duane Thomas and Walt Garrison against the passing attack of the 49ers John Brodie.

The game was 3-3 at the half until the Cowboys broke it open with multiple long running plays.


I remember the Cowboys QB Craig Morton was awful, didn't even complete a third of his passes. Threw one completion to a WR.

However, the Cowboys ran for over 220 yards with Duane Thomas getting over 140.

The Cowboys won 17-10, the first of three playoff victories in a row against the 49ers.

Come on, fans already fearing the Eagles. We are a better team than the Eagles, and their weak schedule.

We need to get by SF first, and their weak schedule of wins. But that doesn't matter. Just go win today.
Focus on the Eagles on the flight back home as MM said, enjoy until the flight lands home.

They had a very similar schedule to us. They had a tougher schedule than the chiefs did. They will be formidable but I want the shot at them.
