What is tanking ? Benching starters ? What . You sign a guy to a healthy contract then what you “ bench “ him ? How do you ask Micah Parsons to sit in the bench. Ask Rico Dowdle going for a 1000 yards he’s worked hard to take a seat for Elliott ?

And what do you tell the coaching staff without any contract left facing unemployment hey don’t try and win possibly stay unemployed .

I know one thing the culture in places like New York both Jets Giants the Bears Jacksonville the Raiders must really stink because no matter what they keep drafting high on the list .

Losers don't know how to win, especially when it comes to off-the-field maneuvering. Winning during a non-playoff season does nothing but keep the team relevant enough to keep the crowd still interested in filling out the home games, buying jerseys and merchandise while continuing to feed Jerry's ego and keep his pockets full. All winning while keeping the team average does is keep Jerry's business as the #1 richest sports business in the world, regardless of playoff success (or lack of it). Keep feeding those egos, but don't complain with the soon 30 years of accomplishing nothing. It's all about making money. Who cares about winning Super Bowls nowadays when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys.

How many teams are really tanking though? The Browns and Giants are the only ones I think are legit tanking. Besides McCarthy has no job security so he has no incentive to tank.

Tanking talk is just fans over thinking....can you imagine if 22 teams realized after week 6 that they weren't winning the SB and they all started tanking? Why would they start the third string QB over the second string QB? Rush isn't starting QB quality, but he's shown that he can win some games. All Lance has shown is that the Niners let him go for a good reason.

Once we were mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, sure, give him a chance to do something. But doing so while there's still a chance, and you'll definitely lose Rush in the off-season...and look stupid in the process.

No one is asking players or coaches to tank, or to not compete whole-heartedly. The FO should be prioritizing player evaluations. Sit your studs, why risk them for nothing? That includes Rush who - while not a stud - is a known commodity and won't be here next year anyway. Play the young backups and see if anyone rises up; losses will take care of themselves. Given this FO has lifetime job security, it's asinine to be playing to win these games now.

NO ONE is saying the players and coaches should tank. Absolutely no one. That is on the GM, and you tank by trading assets that won't be around anyway for winning.

Speaking of asinine, pull your head out of it....I don't have any issue with what you said, other than....no one is asking player or coaches.....that's my issue with some fans, they are actually ticked off that we don't win. Competitive disadvantage? Winning culture and not quitting is worth more than a few draft picks in the first round of the next draft.

Not to mention, the Cowboys could easily trade down that pick.
