And you know what their FA plan is?
So you can tell someone they are not special and just another fan? Does this make you special...only thing IMO is it makes you a special whiner about everything. You don't like anything this team does or doesn't do.

Simply not true. It's a little lie apologists tell themselves to feel better about their own inability to be critical of a team that has failed to compete for a Super Bowl in two decades.

There is no bigger Tony Romo fan here than me. Love Dez, Witten, Zack, Frederick, Tyron, La'el, Sean Lee, Rolando McClain, Orlando Scandrick, and Byron Jones. I stayed up for 48 hours straight to listen to updates of the Super Bowl during Operation Restore Hope at our makeshift battalion headquarters in Mogadishu. I've been a Cowboy fan since I was 4 or 5 years old. I've been a disappointed Cowboys fans since Jerry fired...pushed Jimmy Johnson out the door. But please, tell me I'm not a good fan. It definitely impacts me.

The Giants spent $193.75 million and the Jaguars were right behind them with $174.3 million. Let's start with New York, who brought in Olivier Vernon, Damon Harrison, Jason Pierre-Paul, Janoris Jenkins and Keenan Robinson. Out of all of those names, only JPP has ever been named to a Pro Bowl or All-Pro team.

Ouch lol. Let me guess....these guys will all of a sudden become All-Pro's at their positions?

The only one panicking are the Cowboy fans. Now I don't know how they can feel comfortable at DE or pass rusher and think everything is going to be okay. But I've never known Jerry to not get a free agent he wanted. Its easier for fans to excuse the Cowboys of not knowing what they are doing than understanding that they MAY have a plan in order.

I am sure they have a plan in place. they had one In place last year and they went 4 an d12 having a plan don't mean you are going to be successful.

There's some well taken care of cars out there that don't require you to break the bank.

And some fair-priced, shiny new cars at the dealership that get good mileage and don't break down, like Toyotas and Hondas. Not everyone needs to buy the Range Rover...

Oliver Vernon may not have gone to a Pro bowl yet or made a All pro team, but I do know that he gave Tyron Smith some serious problems when they played against each other last year. I think that was a good signing for the Giants to help with their lack of pass rush.

Their lack of any meaningful success in twenty years has something to do with that, no? Fans should ask questions even though they will probably not receive substantial answers. I don't think anyone is panicking. But let's put it this way. As of right now the Cowboys are counting on a lot of longshots coming through for this season to have significance. Thankfully, it is still only March and things will change for better or worse by September.

As many other teams also. All teams have players they brought in, rather this year, last year or 2 years ago. As FA's or the draft. And have hope they pay off.
There have been quite a few other teams being quiet also. Not many teams made any significant moves that one says WOW, they are going to win.
Matter of fact what team has done anything to really impress anyone.

To me the ones over spending may be the teams in panic. Look what the Eagles do every year, spend, makes moves, make trades. Look what it has done, or more like have not done for them.

Fans keep bringing up the last 20 years, and as you said, that lack of success have something to do with it, no, is right. They need to look at what can happen and stop dwelling on that past. It's done, time to move forward. The FO is doing things much different and better now.

Not buying a car because its too expensive still leaves you riding the bus.....

not buying a new car when you are still paying for one that you got in the past leaves you dealing with the one you got in the past...no reason to go an buy a new car every year, it gets you broke and eventually, you have to sell the shiny new car to pay the bills....ask the Eagles FO about their cars from 2015

Here's the thing that cracks me up: you've got a board full of whiners that are whining that we aren't doing something (overspending in FA) that we USED to do that helped lead to "20 years worth of mediocrity". All the while banging the table about "building through the draft". Yet, when that's exactly what they decide to start doing, the chorus grows louder about how they should reverse field and overpay amongst a group of players who constituted the largest FA haul in NFL history from which the majority have never even mustered up a Pro Bowl/All Pro caliber season. Yet, somehow THIS front office is the group of idiots?

You can't make this **** up.

Sounds like there's plenty of whining on both sides of the aisle.

Since he had such a great game against Smith (only credited with 1 sack), and his overall stats were pretty average....got 2.5 sacks in game against Baltimore...I am not sure that he has a prayer of earning his salary. No sacks in 9 games and half sacks in two others. This isn't a guy that gets it done week in and week out.

Which is why the investment is insane. I, for one, am glad we didn't hop into that market. Call me crazy, but I'm just not high on getting into bidding wars for players that are getting paid like JJ Watt yet produce like George Selvie circa 2014.
