He did okay to good, not great. Said it then that what he did then was nothing extraordinary to unseat Schoonmaker. So if that was his best performance, him not making it to the 53 is not a surprise.
I think he had to show out like Cam Brown did to force his way on the roster. Schoonmaker is a solid if unspectacular backup, but he's someone they feel they can trust on the field.

Has someone checked on Blue's biggest supporter around here?
I thought for sure they'd keep him. I mean, I don't think what he did in the preseason was overly impressive, but I thought it was enough considering the speed threat he brings. He didn't win the No. 2 job from Davis, so I guess it wasn't enough.

Interesting lol

This is one reason it never bothers me to trade late-round picks for players who have shown they can play in the league. Not for the Kenneth Murrays and Kaiir Elams who've shown nothing, but for guys who can contribute to your team. Broderick Jones probably falls into the Murray and Elam category, but at least we're not relying on him to start. We're hoping he can get to the point where he can take Steele's spot, but not guaranteeing it. I'm OK with the trade for that reason and the fact we got back a seventh for Thomas, so we traded a 3rd and 6th to get a 4th and 7th and swap out Jones for Thomas.

Only thing I notice is that the person who made the image screwed up because Caleb Downs is classified as DB in their roster list, not CB, and we know he's a safety.
Yep. That jumped out to me. Don't think the team classifies him as a corner.

Hmmm, how did Mingo and brown make it? So many experts from the zone kept telling me he will easily clear waivers and be on practice squad. I am ecstatic both of them made the team.

It is interesting to me that Downs is the only player in the secondary designated as a "DB". Everyone else is either "CB" or "S".

I've never really understood the distinction. I don't think it is because they are capable of playing both. Roy Williams was definitely a safety whereas Kevin Smith was a CB. Yet, they too are listed as DBs.

I probably should have read more posts first.

I haven't been paying super close attention.

But what running back are we claiming/signing?

We obviously aren't going into the season with JW & Davis.

Love the moves we made.
We’re definitely adding a vet CB Adoree Jackson? I know most ppl don’t like that idea. Trade possibly?

Whelp ........ they made good roster decisions and cut some of the dumb players ........ now lets see them take the next step and get to at least NFC champ game ........ then I will start believing this is more than just the usual Jerry con-job.
I’m not criticizing your opinion but can’t you evaluate the moves made without worrying about what Jerry says? I’m not saying I’m sold either and waiting to see how they do in real games.
