I really like the versatility in this group of LB's. Dallas cross-trains these guys so an injury at any spot won't be too damaging. They're not counting on 16 starts from Lee and McClain and with Hitchens, Brinkley, and maybe even Damien Wilson they're covered.

Hitchens is the best Cowboys 4th round pick I can remember.

Hitchens had 11 starts as a rookie. Chris Canty had 2.

Hitchens performed OK. But there is film study on his rookie season that points to his high tackle numbers as a result of getting beat in coverage a lot. He still has a lot of work to do. But there's potential to be really good, not sure about great.

I like the guy but they haven't even put on pads yet...

I really like hitch
He can play any of the 3 spots and has been productive
The more he plays the better he will be
Nice 4th end pick who I think will soon be a starter

Fitzgerald 1970
Hughes 1975
Rafferty 1976
Deossie 1984
Tolbert 1989
Stone 1993
Barber
Free

Fitzgerald, Rafferty, Deossie, Tolbert, Stone, Barber and Free are/were better players although Stone didn't do it here.

It's interesting that the Cowboys since the 90s have far more to show for their seventh-round picks than their fourth-rounders (Jay Ratliff, Patrick Crayton, Brock Marion, Leon Lett)

Would Hitch have had those starts without the injuries to Durant, Lee, and Ro?

Seems weak evidence. Had Spears or Ellis got hurt obviously Canty would have started more.

HIs ability to provide average play at every lb spot is invaluable. This is the NFL. Guys get hurt.
