No, it doesn't. Can't believe I have to repeat myself. You said this team is would be 4-12 without Romo. I pointed to Kitna in 2010. End of story.

Sounds like the Cowboys in 2009. Romo got us zero playoff wins and was embarrassed by the Vikings.

2007, 2009, even though you said one. 2009 they were 2nd in pointed allowed. Its a myth that Romo never had a great defense. Aaron Rodgers went 15-1 with the worst defense in the league. Excuses, excuses.

I didn't say he sucked. I'm just pointing out that he was never a game changer. I've seen people put him in the same league as Brady and Peyton, when he isnt even in Matt Ryans league.

So in your world, Kyle Orton would've been better than 8-8 in 2011-13. I'm saying we were only 8-8 because of Romo and yes - I say 4-12 without him. Plus, you completely ignored your inference that a backup quarterback who won games is automatically better than the starter - just blew right by that one but if you want to go ahead and say that - let us know.

2009? Really. See, this is what I'm going to miss. It's so easy that I am embarrassed.

You're blaming Romo for the Vikings loss? For the love of God did you see the offensive line play in that game? They had six sacks and 12 hurries. He had zero time. You think Peyton Manning or Tom Brady or Dak would've won that game with that offensive line? We could barely get 90 yards rushing. So what would you have done offensively? How the hell were we ever going to move the ball? Never mind the defense gave up 34 points.

Look at what the Giants did to Brady with pressure in two Super Bowls. To blame Romo for that game is so blindly irrational it's insane - but as I said, there's a reason that out of hundreds of posters in here there are so few who have that opinion.

It's like those who blame him for the Denver game. 2 teams have lost in NFL history scoring that many points and we are one of them.

Aaron Rodgers - 2011? They didn't win a playoff game that year which according to you is what it's all about.

As for the 15-1 regular season with a lot of injuries that is as impressive as it gets because he is quite possibly the greatest ever - so if that's the standard for Romo then for an undrafted free agent - okay.

BTW - I would NEVER put Romo in with Brady, Peyton, Rodgers. I would put him in with Bress and Roethlisberger.

Excuses or NFL fact?

Brady Brees Rodgers Peyton. Pick one.

How many SB's they have they won with Defensive QB rating over 80?

45 combined season for those 4 QBs.

1 Superbowl. 2016 Patriots had a 84.3. So we are talking perhaps the greatest coach or quarterback combination ever.

If Romo was not the answer who is? Clearly, 3 of the 4 best 4 QB’s of our generation have never got it done in their entire careers, and the other could only do it once, nor could they ever with a defense like ours.

Lets see some Defensive QB Ratings from elite QB’s Super Bowl years.

Brady
68.6
58.2
75.3
84.3

Brees 68.8
Rodgers 67.2
Peyton
80 (def had 13 takeaways in 4 playoff games and allowed 8, 6, and 17 in 3 of the 4 games. beat NE in shootout)

Eli
In both Giants Super Bowl in the 2000’s they put together two of the greatest defensive runs in the Super Bowl era only giving up 15 PPG. In today’s NFL that is unheard of.

Now - here’s Romo
75.1 2014 (13-3) and had the game taken from him by a horrible call.

Then
86.2
83.5
92.8
88.4
94.7
96

All of this points to one reasonable conclusion. If you want to say "screw him - good riddance" about TO I get that,

But most fans would never attribute that to Romo, especially after the Quincy Carter, Chad Hutchinson, Ryan Leaf years.

I am very sad today. I was hoping he would keep playing. Besides Roger, the most fun player to watch I have seen on the Cowboys. Just enjoyed playing the game and it showed. He was a warrior. I hope this all works out for him, he deserves it. The bad thing is now, I have to watch the AFC some.. crap.
The guy loved the game, for sure.

Darren Woodson was on The NFL network earlier today saying that besides Michael Irvin, Tony Romo was the single most competitive player he'd ever played with.
Woody no BSer...so the haters should let that sink in.

It is a high compliment, but I am really sure how Woodson picked that up after barely playing with a wet behind the ears rookie for two years, one of which he spent on I.R.

Romo was simply a guard at the prison of mediocrity. Still the same Warden and deputy.

I want to disagree with this but I can't really. What I will say is I'm glad Romo and his mediocrity in the games that mattered most is done here. I will be even happier the day Jerry is gone. The last 20 years have been painful.

Interesting. Allbright is usually dead on concerning Denver.

Listening to sports radio, the fans already consider the season over with Tony's retirement

McNair showed Jerry, he didn't give up a draft pick so now he has Savage and a back lb that they'll select with that 5th rounder they played hardball with. Lol
