Here's Prescott's arrogant, self centered send off for Romo.

Let's be honest...If Romo didn't have such a fat ego and could accept the backup position. He could have had the best gig in the NFL. The highest paid player...Been a good mentor. Perfect backup QB. Chance for Super Bowl ring. But instead...He would rather take the easy way out.

Wonder how it feels to push your childhood idol into unnecessary retirement...

Dak just like Romo is a competitor. It was not personal when Tony took over for Bledsoe and this is not personal. Romo has handled all this with class and so has Dak. Fans on the other hand could use some lessons on class.

No, it doesn't. Can't believe I have to repeat myself. You said this team is would be 4-12 without Romo. I pointed to Kitna in 2010. End of story.

Sounds like the Cowboys in 2009. Romo got us zero playoff wins and was embarrassed by the Vikings.

2007, 2009, even though you said one. 2009 they were 2nd in pointed allowed. Its a myth that Romo never had a great defense. Aaron Rodgers went 15-1 with the worst defense in the league. Excuses, excuses.

I didn't say he sucked. I'm just pointing out that he was never a game changer. I've seen people put him in the same league as Brady and Peyton, when he isnt even in Matt Ryans league.

Stop watching football and going In public.

I don't know many long time starters who would settle for a backup role. In the end however the Cowboys were not going to pay Romo salary as a backup, no team would

Not sure what you are bitter about? Dak is not the bad guy, Dak did what any ball player is taught and that is to compete. Romo did that as well when he took the job from Drew.
I will miss Romo on game day but in the end this in my view is a good thing for this team in freeing up money, it is a good thing for Dak after all playing QB in Dallas is hard to begin with and would be that much harder with the distraction of Romo hanging over his shoulder. Romo, much like Troy is starting a new phase in his own career and I hope nothing but the best for him.

Way to throw the career ending INT. Broadcast years are for after 40 years old IMO. Some things never change.

The Cowboys aren't paying Dak or Moore squat. There isn't that much money tied up @ the QB spot when combining all 3 salaries compared to the rest of the league. By setting him free w/ his release is a mistake. Hold on to his rights. IMO..we just blew the best QB situation in the league.

And in all honestly...the smart move would have been to open up the QB position to a competition. Best man win. Would have kept all 3 guys sharp. Now??? Who knows what your going to get...

He has more money than I'll ever see and a great looking loving wife with two kids and one on the way. What's to feel bad about?
Separate elements make up the sum total of an individual's life. If the only thing observers knew of Romo's life was the good fortune he enjoys of a loving family and wealth, they would have consumed only the positive perspective presented to them. Yet, money, a gorgeous wife, and beautiful children aren't the sum total of Romo's life. He did not accomplish reaching the pinnacle of his sport--an ambition shared by many of past, present and future peers. That unfulfilled goal will remain a personal regret. Certainly, Romo, like many others, can succeed in the other areas of his life and live life fully with happiness, but that shortcoming will remain a regret nonetheless. Empathy leans some towards feeling compassion for others left with a missing piece of their career puzzle. Not everyone though. Just some.

Yes and the seahawks did not pay Wilson early on and that money helped a lot in bringing in top talent to build a great defense. I'm glad we do not have a lot tied up so that areas that must be addressed over the next 2 to 3 season can go to build this team.

There is nothing smart about having 49.7 mill sitting on a bench.

Mainly that had tony gone back to starting last year, Id bet fully he'd be playing this next year.
