I get what you're saying. To me he was a 4th round pick. Could've went earlier....He's not a flawless prospect. He has flaws. Marvin Wilson was another guy who was projected to go much higher....I saw some places say late 1st and in the 2nd..he goes undrafted.

IN regards to why he fell? I honestly don't know why. I heard the rumblings of a shoulder injury...Tyler Biadiz fell last year as well. Its just the draft. That's all I can add to he discussion lol.

Its also worth noting that other linebackers may have went before him because they were better fits. Better tacklers. Better run stoppers. Cowboys happen to have been in the business of better coverage linebackers. Worked out for them.

The top steal of the draft is Christian Barmore. We could have gotten him and Joseph. And we would srtill have gotten Jabril Cox too.

If the player went undrafted, he can't be the "steal of the draft."

I like this kid. He was a man among boys at NDSU and his play was good at LSU as well. I think Jaclyn should be worried about his job being taken.

I don’t understand the concern with Cox...my favorite pick of the draft. He was the best D player in FSB and then best player on a SEC defense. If he’s that good in coverage, him identifying running lanes shouldn’t be too awful hard. He’s not a beast run stopping thumper but he is an outstanding LB overall who’s great in coverage and the NFL is a passing league. . If our DL play is much improved to keep he and Parsons clean...the D should be vastly better. Maybe even LVE will have a big year.

I could see him switching to SS. His measurables aren't too far off from the likes of John Lynch and Kam Chancellor.

I think he’ll see out his rookie deal and that is good enough for me.

I don’t think he’ll ever be a starter here but who knows.

Not many agree with me right now but I think losing Vander Esch would be very bad for this team unless he has an underlying medical condition that we aren’t aware of.

This fan base never liked Vander Esch though.. When we drafted him he was Bobby Carpenter.. When he was amazing.. Then got hurt... He was Sean Lee.

    Dude is a phenomenal talent.

I liked the pick, wasn't too high on him but I liked the pick. I also liked what I saw his rookie year. What I didn't like was him looking like a weak average joe who was scared to make a hit and wasn't playing as quick or as instinctive as I know he can play after his neck injury in 2019. His broken collarbone seemed to add to those issues.

Seemed like a bit of a steal to me

Fwiw, Mike Brenner is just one a 100 people who graded drafts and picked “best steals”
