Wrong mentality brother.

Washed up feature backs are useless. If someone is fighting for a spot, they need to contribute on special teams. Guys who spent their careers as #1 backs usually just fade away as they never developed the skills that keep 2s and 3s on the roster.

Washed up feature backs... like DMC?

Why yall so negative?!? At the very least he will be a traing camp body, but I think he has more potential than that...

My number one guy to be brought here is Christine Michaels, if he can be had for cheap enough. Number 2 is Chris Johnson. He is older but he still looked pretty damn good last year. I think he would be pretty solid behind this line.

CM is the same size, but a bit faster and 2 years older.

So I guess this also means that McFadden is washed up.

He runs like Lynch, a smaller version . Seems like a RKG, his coach really liked him.
Maybe he gets a shot in PS.

I like the signing and it didn't cost us a draft pick or headache (Chris Johnson). The guy looks legit. And has an "Emmit like" frame. Folks keep pointing out his 4.6 speed like it's slow, but didn't have a problem with Murray getting tackled from behind last year. No worries, he's prob just a camp body, but it sure would be cool if we found a gem the day before camp opens:)
I found this write up and I had to share. He's being touted as "The Most Overlooked RB" in the draft class. It's a good read.

Exactly.

Murray probably is slower than 4.6 at this point.

Nice write up thanks for sharing. I think 99.999% would take Ingram or Anderson...if he really plays at that level this team may have found the Romo of RBs!

On the upside, Charles Davis seems to be sold on the move.

Some info after the Raiders signed him.

Raiders signed Stephen F. Austin RB Gus Johnson.
Johnson (5'10/215) was the 2014 Southland Conference Player of the Year, finishing his career with 3,907 yards and 51 TDs on 631 carries (6.19 YPC), adding 57 receptions. Although Johnson ran 4.7-flat in Indianapolis, he posted solid vertical (36 1/2") and broad (10') jump numbers, and improved his forty to the mid-4.5s at Stephen F. Austin's Pro Day. Johnson was a gritty, bow-legged grinder in college, but may lack the lateral movement and passing-game chops to become more than an NFL backup. He's still someone to monitor based on his track record of production.May 3 - 10:28 PM

They had the exact same amount of carries last year, McFadden had over 100 fewer yards and unlike Johnson he wasn't a part of the 3rd best run attack in the league. Johnson is better than McFadden and it isn't even close.

lol we'll see.

I remember a walk-on from Texas A&I, who was just too small and slow to be drafted. He now resides in the Hall of Fame.

John Randle...at least listen to the record before declaring that it won't be a hit.

Johnson is from SFA, the Alma Mater of the great Larry Centers.
