I honestly believe Christine Michael would flourish int his offense. His power with his speed would be a fun thing to watch. I think he would seriously give Randle a run for the first team reps.

Don't like his lack of speed. Unless used for short yardage, but it's a give away on the play call if he comes in. If he were to make the team. But don't see it at this point.
Where is the trade off for Williams. Unless Williams knee was not going to allow him to pass a physical or conditioning before TC started. But didn't they do away with the conditioning test?

At the combine he ran the same 40 time, actually a smidge better, as that of Joseph Randle. Doing it at 10lbs heavier.

For SFA, Johnson rushed for a total of 3,892 yards and 51 touchdowns in his four-year career. He also piled up 57 receptions for 419 yards and one receiving touchdown. Check out some of his highlights in the video feature embedded below.

Man, I think I've seen better high school defenses than some of the ones in that video.

I like the signing and it didn't cost us a draft pick or headache (Chris Johnson). The guy looks legit. And has an "Emmit like" frame. Folks keep pointing out his 4.6 speed like it's slow, but didn't have a problem with Murray getting tackled from behind last year. No worries, he's prob just a camp body, but it sure would be cool if we found a gem the day before camp opens:)
I found this write up and I had to share. He's being touted as "The Most Overlooked RB" in the draft class. It's a good read.

I am willing to give the guy a try--it costs us nothing. But please don't assume I didn't have any concerns about Murray last year!

I don't understand getting "camp bodies". I want competition at every position ESPECIALLY running back. Right now, we have 3 projected running backs almost locked to make the roster and two guys who can't be seen as anything other than camp bodies at this point. At the very least, a veteran will provide competiton going into training camp.

Hmm.. I'm pretty sure I have no clue who you are, so in saying that..this post wasn't directed to you! I was simply talking to all people that think Dallas is doomed without him, yet he didn't have blazing speed either. Sorry if you took that personal. I don't think Gus will be able to even crack the 53, but it sure is fun to watch him try.. And who knows? Nobody thought much about Romo either.. That's all I'm saying. Id love to be wrong tho:)

LOL

Folks, this is the guy that gets to carry the ball in the fourth quarter and most of the final preseason game. Nothing more. He needs to hope for a run of injuries to the other four guys.

I didn't take it personally, but I was one of the people who pointed out his slow 40 time. You said "folks keep pointing out his slow 40 time, but didn't have a problem with Murray getting caught from behind." You were clearly saying the the same (or some of the same) people were saying both of those things, but I don't believe there is any reason to believe that the ones pointing out that this guy seems a bit slow also praised Murray. It is a common logical fallacy that I see on this board and thought I would point out. No hard feelings or anger, and maybe I shouldn't expect tight logic on a message board where people post quickly.

I just watched his combine video on nfl.com. He catches the ball really well. Eye Test looks slow to me, but he is pretty strong looking and runs low to the ground. Maybe he needs to cut some weight and pick up a step.

We're in the look-see stage. We want to take a long look at McFadden and Randle before we go out seeking proven competition for a spot. In the meantime, we'll give the unproven types like Seastrunck and Gus Johnson the chance to show something. (I say that knowing that Randle is also unproven and McFadden has a lot to prove.)

If the guys we're projecting to be the real competition fail, then we'll make a move either with vets available like Chris Johnson or through a trade. We've cleared enough cap space with the Dez deal that it won't be an issue to pay someone like Chris Johnson if we have to. If the backs we have show enough, then we can use that money to sign someone like Tyrone Crawford to an extension.

Yeah because Alfred Morris was a game breaker at S Florida, and that Terrell Davis teared it up for a whole 1 season in the SEC. You just never know with RB's. Looks a hell of a lot better than Williams and bringing in CJ if you ask me.

I'm thinking we'll see Gus Johnson and perhaps other RBs being tested before this RB situation is settled.

We'll very likely be bringing prospective tryouts in until someone impresses enough to stick. It's early yet.

You are probably right
You need 4 rb's at least, for training camp but since the odds are we only carry 3 he has a high hill to climb
To me the only way another RB Canaletto this team is if the had some good special teams skills. That could give them a shot
Or injuries
Otherwise it appears to me they are content with the guys they have
Fans may not be but then again there were fans who hated the beard pick, hitch pick, scandrick signing and cheered for signing Roy Williams. So I think the present staff has a better track record than fans
I'm nervous about our rb's, not because of their ability, I think they have the ability. My concern is availability
If they can stay healthy and out of Dillard's I think they will be fine, for what that's worth
