One example being "Would've had a side kick with a funny name..." the video then cut to Aikman running through the tunnel, the camera fixated on the text written on the back of his jersey and so forth or "California is full of whiskey, women and gold" this lyric was accompanied by Dallas' venture into the Pasadena Rose Bowl for their championship triumph.

The "Should've Been A Cowboys" version WITH the lyrics changed was used as a Monday Night Football intro. I still have it on videotape somewhere. It was a short version, maybe only one or two verses, so Toby Keith might never have recorded a full version of it. But it did have different lyrics, such as "just like Roger and Troy" instead of Gene and Roy.
By the way, here is the highlight video you were talking about, with the original song --

Now just give me a chance to see Tony D dance and let me watch Harvey Martin awhile

Just did some online searching.
Sutton passed away and I see no sign of Odessa Records anymore so it's probably not going to be available in mp3 forma anywhere.

SH Sports;3426426 said:This is a must have for me!!! I have spent years tracking down this song and keep finding lots of others instead. However and whatever it takes I must get a copy of this. I do not know what happened to the old 45 I had of it, it has been 25 years since I have seen it, and since I have heard the song. My wife and friends think that I am crazy but it is a great childhood and Cowboys memory of mine. Just so we are on the same page, it is not the Charlie Pride song, or the football card song. It is the one that I have listed out the words for...... "My woman thinks I don't love her...... Just give me a chance to see Tony D dance..... If the Dallas Cowboys play in Heaven...." I have searched these and other forums and have not found the right song, so if you do have a copy of it I would love to get a copy. Thanks again.

That is what makes it hard to find. I know for sure it was on 45 record but I am pretty sure that it was just a Dallas area thing, not a national song. I do not know where I got the record or who put it out. Thanks again for all your help, it is nice to know that there are nice folks out there willing to take a little time and go the extra mile.
