That is impressive if you did. He and jcblanco22 impress me with their trivia skills.

Thumper, Bob Lilly 1962.

Hopefully, he will reply to my challenge.

Was it Jerry Tubbs?

You are correct sir! Nicely done. :beer2: Treat yourself to a cold one on me.

Jerry Tubbs was one of our first true stars and a great player. If he had played for a better team he would have gotten a lot more recognition.

Now what is your question...?

Here is an easy one right over the plate:

What NBA great with multiple NBA Championship rings was drafted by the Cowboys?

OK, obviously, your looking for more.

Rayfield Wright played for Fort Valley State University in Georgia. He is a member of there Hall of Fame, was all SAIC in 65 and 66 as a TE. Was also all SAIC as a Center in Basketball. Was actually offered a contract to play in the NBA by the Cininnati Royals in 1966. Wright had his biggest success as a TE while at FVSU but he also played Safety and I believe he was also there punter.

Name the Dallas Cowboys who attended Elizabeth City State University and Fort Valley State University.

Hey - got a question for you.

Did ECSU ever drop its football program? (for a period of a few years?)

There was a Dallas Cowboy whose college dropped football, while that Cowboy was still playing in the NFL. (It might have been Verne Lundquist who mentioned it a few times during radio broadcasts).

I seem to remember that Cowboy was Jethro Pugh, but I'm not sure.

Anybody know?

I don't know. The team is not very good now, they only won two games last year. They are in the CIAA conference.

Might have been Appalachian State University. If so, then the player is probably Dexter Coakley.

OK, well, I'll try one. Might be too easy.

Tom Landry played for the University of Texas Longhorns, took time out to serve in the US ARMY Air Corp from 42 to 47 and then returned to Texas to graduate in 1949. In 1949, he entered the NFL and played DB for what NY team?
