How did Clint Murchison hedge his bets that he would get an NFL franchise?

One of my favorite stories in Peter Golenbeck's book, "Cowboys Have Always Been My Heroes."

He purchased rights to the Washington Commanders fight song from Barnee Breeskin, then Band Director of George Preston Marshall's Washington Commanders and Writer of the music that went to the song. Marshall was trying to block Murchison's purchase of an NFL Franchise and Clint Murchison used this as leverage to get the deal through. There was a squabble between Marshall and Breeskin over the song. The lyrics were actually done by Marshall's wife, but the song it self was Breeskin's. Murchison purchased the rights to the song for 2500 dollars. Murchison patitioned George "Papa Bear" Hales, then NFL Expansion Committee Chairman, for a Dallas Franchise. In order to get accepted, all NFL owners had to approve and Marshall would not do it. Murchison threatened to refuse the use of the song by the Skinz if Marshall continued to stand in the way. A deal was struck, A Dallas franchise was born, that ridiculous Skinz fight song was given to the Marshall family and the best Rivalry in the History of the NFL was born.

OK, well, I'll try one. Might be too easy.

Tom Landry played for the University of Texas Longhorns, took time out to serve in the US ARMY Air Corp from 42 to 47 and then returned to Texas to graduate in 1949. In 1949, he entered the NFL and played DB for what NY team?

The Jets?

What team did the Cowboys lose the SuperBowl too, and what were they calling the SuperBowl after the loss?

Here is a quote;

"The SuperBowl was a nightmare to us. There were five fumbles, six interceptions, and enough wierd plays to last a season. And this was from two teams that were supposed to be the best in football"

I'm not going to say which SuperBowl...but, this one stands out...

This is a trick question because Landry didn't play in the NFL in 1949. He was a member of the AAFC New York Yankees that season and played both HB and DB.

He joined the NFL with the New York Giants in 1950.

We "lost" to the Baltimore Colts 16-13 in what came to be known as the "Blooper Bowl".

It was the only time in SB history that a player from the losing team was named MVP (Chuck Howley).

It also had the worst blown call by a ref in SB history when Duane Thomas fumbled at the goal line and our Center Dave Manders fell on it and everyone piled on top of him. The Colts immediately pointed and started yelling that they had the ball so the refs awarded them possession but when they unpiled the players, there was Manders with the ball. Landry was livid that the refs had awarded the ball to Baltimore without knowing who had actually recovered it.

It cost us the game.

On Walt Garrisons first NFL carry, how many yards did he run for, and who slowed him down, or he may have scored?

Right, but it wasn't the NFL it was the AAFC New York Yankees. Like I said, it was a farging trick question.
I already answered the Giants and he said incorrect. Those are the only 2 teams he played for.
