Certainly, Prescott feels that he will beat Wentz with his contract as he has bet on himself and has avoided the offers the Cowboys have floated. While it would be a personal win for Prescott, it would be a loss for the Dallas organization and fans of America’s Team as the Cowboys will have fewer resources than the Eagles to field a competitive roster.

Maybe it is for the best for Cowboys fans to cheer on the pundits to continue to put Wentz above Prescott. The continued messaging might be enough to give the Cowboys leverage to seek a fair but team friendly or strategically negotiated contract that allows the Cowboys to afford other really good football players.

NEXT: Dallas Cowboys - Midseason predictions and playoff cautionary tales
The remaining nine games will show which way the contract negotiation will swing. The Cowboys play three top-five defenses in the Patriots, Bills, and Vikings with fourth, the Bears, in the top-ten. If Prescott can run the gauntlet, he will have won his contract bet. Should he and the Cowboys falter, then Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones might win this contract negotiation but lose his Super Bowl window.

Jerry made a deal with the devil in 1995 to win that Superbowl as the Niners fell to the Packers.....
Dak is Jerrys Anti-Christ and once signed will have sealed the deal as Jerry will go to the ranch in the Sky without living another Superbowl win.

P.S. Concerning Wentz over Dak if you opened your eyes without them personal/Fan filters you would agree with the experts!

Define experts. The same experts that said Ryan Leaf was better than Peyton Manning? I don't even think Wentz is better than Nick Foles, and he's been an injury prone average to above average QB depending on team talent for his entire career. The Eagles looked like a different team when he took over for Wentz last season. Now it's back to that team it was before he took over.

You should know that you’re considered a joke here.

One of the other points made is Dak’s contract and the salary cap. It puzzles me why fans would want Dak to make 40 million a year , but they do. Every dollar spent on Dak is less money that will be available for the rest of the team. There is no question that Dak is not the type of QB that can carry a team in his own. He needs a lot of help. Overpaying Dak may make them feel like Dak is a better QB than others in the league , but in reality Dak’s contract is much more likely to doom the team to sub-.500 seasons for the next 10 years.

To me a lot has to do with fandom. People here like our QB and so feel like he is (has to be) better.

They play in the same division, were drafted the same year and of course Wentz plays for the hated Eagles. IMO most here will always say that Dak is better than Wentz regardless of the player he is because of those reasons.

And why hasn’t Carson Wentz “carried” his team on his own (whatever the hell that means)?

Why is he on pace for a 3rd non-winning season in 4 years?

Why is Dak on pace for a 4th straight winning season with better stats than Wentz across the board?

Because you’re a JOKE who doesn’t know football, that’s why.

Same CLOWN who said Colt McCoy and Tyrod Taylor are just as good as Dak.

There PAID by Dak's PR office and if it was up to them they would like to have Dak get 50 million a year.
Guess there's a bonus in it for them.
The Cowboys and there Cap health is something above there pay-grade.

Question:

Dallas Cowboys: Why do experts favor Carson Wentz over Dak Prescott?

Answer:

Because they are not experts. Or, at the very least, It makes me question their expertise.

Because he was drafted higher and had a half season of good football once. The narrative is that Dak sucks, which isn’t true but narratives are hard to overturn.

Because while Dak could be more successful and the more effective QB , Wentz is a more prolific passer with greater talent in their eyes.

Many experts see Dak is benefiting from a star studded cast surrounding him and Wentz is needing to carry or elevate his supporting cast.

Here’s a scenario I’ve heard used. Who do you think would do better if they switched teams. Dak with the Egirls or Wentz with the Boys?

I've noticed this opinion has changed recently. Most "experts" have changed their opinion and prefer Dak over Wince if they had to choose one. Steve Marriucci was asked who he would pick if he had to choose one to start a team. He said Dak because he has shown to be more consistent and more clutch in big moments.

Dak would have won the SB for the Eagles in 2017. With that roster and coaching, unlike Wince, Dak wouldn't have gotten injured and finished the season winning the SB.

Wince might not even be in the league with the beating he would have taken in Atlanta in 2017 with the Cowboys. He might have ended up being RG3 2.0.

Then why were the Eagles considered a top team in the NFC and were dominating pretty much all the position rankings? According to the experts, the Eagles were better at every position group on offense except rb. The narrative is Dak needs help and Wentz does it on his own, but the MVP-caliber half season Wentz had his supporting cast was so good the backup qb won the Super Bowl. He also has a losing record as a starter in the two seasons since.
