The Cowboys would not have 10 wins without Brown. They are incredibly lucky that he has been so good as a rookie.

The pass rush is going to be a big problem at some point. I don't think they even sacked the Washington QB.

Marinelli might as well just rush 2 and drop everybody in coverage on passing downs.

At this point I would send Lee in to blitz or Wilson for that matter. The four guys up front alone just don't cut it. Until then our offense can be our best defense.

As long as the offense continues to efficiently score in the redzone and protect the football, the defense only needs to make the opposition earn every point.

Which means the offense has ZERO margin for error, which is alot to ask.

If we're causing this many problems for our opposition this year, I salivate to think of what might come if we draft an elite DE in 2017. Of course, two would be even better . . . perhaps one via the draft and yet another through veteran free agency -- we'd be a holy terror to our opposition.

Rookie pass rushers often struggle and fail to make much of an impact

Indy won a SB with a defense like this.

Probably even a worse defense vs. the run than Dallas.

There's not one team in the NFL that's going to blow the doors off this Cowboys team... Not one.

They may sneak out a victory over Dallas but they aren't laying some sorta whooping on them.
Moreover, they never had the chance to take the lead the entire second half.

Wash never even had possession within 10 points of the lead. The game felt incredibly tense but wasn't as close as we all think, or the talking heads are trying to make it.

Huh? Twice they were within 5 pts of the lead (didn't look it up).

After scoring they were within 5. When they got the ball back, they were down 12.

They never had possession within 10 after we took a 17-3 lead early in the 2nd.

The title of this thread should be Dallas D going backwards. Hopefully getting Church back will be a boost.

With Irving, Collins, Mcclain showing flashes at DT. What purpose is there for Tyrone Crawford moving forward? He's a mediocre end

We were up 11 at the half. They scored a late FG after we had a 14 pt lead.

We were up by 5 after their TD in the 4th. Pass failed.

We scored to go up by 12.

They scored on Jackson's 67 yd TD to get within 5 again. Both teams scored TDs again for the final 31-26 score.

I have some real concerns about some of the schemes & formations Marinelli has put out there in crunch time the last two games. In each game, we had either a basic 4-3-4 out there with either a cover two, or single safety in the deep middle. Yesterday we had the latter alignment set up with less than 10 minutes to go in the game, & up 12 points on 3rd & 2 with the Skins on their own 33 yard line. Anthony Brown was singled up on DeSean Jackson, with Jones deep between the hashes. (Carr should hang his head that we've had to put a sixth round rookie corner on the opponents' best receiver most of the year). With Jones that deep & not even leaning Browns' way, Brown was ripe for the pickings. I guess that is the formation the coach called, but why in the world has the best receiver for the Steelers & Commanders, respectively, burned the rookie deep late in the game with virtually zero help deep. In both the Jackson & Antonio Brown cases, Byron Jones was WAY late getting over & was of no help whatsoever. Either Jones doesn't have the football insticts of a top notch FS, or they're putting him in impossible situations. Either way, they need to get that fixed--fast. By the way, we should have been playing a 4-1-6 defense on that play. Did ANYONE think they would run the ball with the clock ticking down, & two TDs to go?! Even if they did, & gained 20 yards, who cares? The clock would be running, & they would still be on the field. Come on, man!

Our inability to pressure the passer will likely spell doom in the playoffs. We knew entering the season that our lack of a pass rush would be a liability and it's bound to catch up with us.

If Jerry & Co. are smart, they'll realize going all-in on the defense this offseason could very well win us another ring sooner rather than later. Part ways with Tony (sobbing noises) and put that money to use with a NFL-caliber pass rush. Because yes, we are that close...

We need to find more creative way to blitz because our 4 DLinemen aren't getting it done.

I think Mayo played 3-4 LB so maybe he can be incorporate into some kind of Zone blitzing scheme where we have him drop back and blitz one of the other LBs. Maybe try Wilson. He looks to have size and speed to rush the passer in that type of scheme.

I think enough already with drafting and waiting two or three years. The Cowboys need to free up some money with Romo's departure and buy a proven commodity for DE...no more doing things on the cheap...maybe draft a DT and CB in the first two rounds. They need to turn the current rotation into a terror and I would like pro-bowl talent at 3 tech and DE. The Cowboys have wasted two years on Gregory and I don't think they should waste two more on a draft pick unless it's a JJ Watt type of guy that can give you sacks immediately as a rookie...which is a tall order considering Dallas will pick near the bottom of the first round.
