• ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reported that there has been talk that a few teams have contacted the Cowboys regarding the availability of Julius Jones. There have been rumblings that some team officials think Marion Barber III is ready to assume a larger role. Jones has been surrounded by trade rumors at various times during the off season.:starspin

So basically this means absolutely nothing. I am sure teams contact other teams all the time about players. It does not mean that the Cowboys are interested in dealing him

...chill out with the sensational thread title.

If we do trade him, I would wait for some other team's starting RB to go down so we could get the most value out of him.

No, what really happened is this. Len Pasquerelli was at lunch with some coworkers. After devouring the sixth plate full of food, the guy across from him said, "Geez, I thought you were about to eat the frickin BONES!"

Len thought he said we were trading Julius JONES.

Hence, the rumor. Glad to help.

Seriously he has got the vish' sunken-in eyes... He is huge. I wonder how long he will be with us.

Maybe he should be taken out to pasture... :shoot1: (I only said that because I wanted to use that Smiley with the guns.)

Hey guys, just trying to keep people informed. I am not sure whether or not this is going to happen or not. Time will tell, I guess.

If there is any merit to this and I really don't know, Who and what do you think we can get for Juluis Jones? I think Tenneesee, GreenBay and Cleveland COULD be interested because each team could use a veteran.

Here is the headline from ESPN, Scott Engel,

Dallas Dealing?
Scott Engel's Offseason Notebook examines possible deals involving Julius Jones, Trent Green and others.

Take it for what it is worth. I am not here to cause an issue. That is not what I am about. I enjoy talkin' Cowboys and that's the bottom line.

I'd be very surprised if the Cowboys were to trade Julius Jones before they very sure MBIII can carry them to the playoffs. We've also got no viable RB behind Barber. Thompson has great straight ahead speed but has shown nothing more in 2 years; he's also a liability in blocking when he's in the backfield.

I still say there isn't a need to trade Julius. If we do, we would then need another RB. Makes no sense to me.

:hammer::hammer::hammer:

I don't trust MBIII, or for that matter any back on our roster to carry the full load. We need JJ right now because he offers the home run threat which helps to keep defenses on thier toes and honest rather than stuffing eight in the box as they would if MBIII was the only onevbecause he can't break off a big one. Also, MBIII has never, even in college, been the main setback for an offense. Even in Minnesota he shared carries with Lawrence Maroney. He might break down...at least we know JJ will. At this point of our teams maturity and readiness for the playoffs, we need veterans (plural!!!) in the backfield.

Also, I don't really like any of our running back to pass block, but if I had to choose one it would be JJ; he picks up the rush SOMETIMES at least.

It would be stupid to trade him now. They didn't get anyone in the draft to replace him.I don't really want Barber carrying the full load.I didn't agree with alot of the things Parcells did,but I thought he used Jones and Barber well last year.
