We did cheap out on RB last year and it made absolutely no difference in how the season played out.

Though if you did resign DeMarco, you wouldn't have had the money to resign someone like Doug Free.

And youd miss out on a superior rushing output.

Romo's collarbone being held together with scotch tape for most of the year probably had something to do with it.

I don't even blame the back up QBs either...we were in position to win a lot of the games that we ultimately ended up losing. We had chances to beat the Falcons, Saints, Seahawks, Eagles (second game), Giants (second game), Tampa Bay, and Jets.

Our defense is really what let us down last year. Whether it was CJ Spiller taking the opening play in OT for a TD, Dwayne Harris destroying us on kick returns, Jordan Matthews catching the GW TD in OT, Jameis Winston leading a game-winning drive, etc.

We would never had a chance against Carolina anyways. Even if Romo and Dez were healthy.

They certainly wiped themselves with us on Thanksgiving. But that's the NFL. Remember the two PHI games in 2014?

No. The giant mistake was signing Hardy. It created an environment where one guy was pretty much allowed to do whatever he wanted despite mediocre production. Jerry clearly overruled Garrett on that and it tore down a good bit of what JG had established the previous year.

It'll be interesting to hear the stories come out when/if Hardy gets another job. I think when he is officially off the table for Jerry, stuff will start leaking out.

2015's Super Bowl Chances:

Move on

Denver's starting QB missed 7 games and they won the SuperBowl.

Maybe the mistake was constructing a team that was incapable of winning games without its starting QB.

3 vet backups led to a 1-11 record................when that happens, it means there are some serious roster/coaching issues going on.

1. Dez being hurt was the issue with Dez, not getting paid, not missing training time. Wasn't a mistake made by the FO.

2. The running game was not the problem that derailed the Cowboys. Not paying Murray turned out to not be that big of a deal.

3. You can't pay everyone the way you'd like to keep them. Many of the 2014 players that went elsewhere in 2015 got overpaid. The armchair GM's out there fail to remember it's a business.

DENs passing efficiency improved when their QB went down. The equivalent for them would be losing their ability to stop the pass. Which obviously would have stalled their Superbowl run.

the cowboys were just simply not good enough to win in 2014 and when tony went down they were done season over. the coaches players couldn't or didn't adjust.

PUT THIS IS THREE INCH HEADLINES: Why could Houston win with Weeden, and furthermore how could NFL teams win with Cassel for years.

That's a statement not a question. Dallas couldn't but New England won with Cassel, so did the Chefs, Vikes and Buffy. He just resigned with Tennessee ...Houston won with Weeden the same year Dallas could not and 'the Texans' just resigned him for 2016 to boot.

The leadership here is done, the Dallas fan takes the whoopin' on gameday not the so-called team. Speaking of boot, forceps please!

1.Tried to franchise a unstable guy like Dez, which led to a late signing and a out of shape Dez,
and not ready for prime time Dez, which led to the injury.
2. Didnt sign Murray or Draft a RB, went cheap on the position
3. Cut didnt sign most of the guys on defense who got 1/2 of turnovers in 2014

By not keeping Murray or drafting a similar RB, this meant changes in the offense by coaches.
They could not just keep doing what they did in 2014, which worked well for them and Romo.

It wasnt that Murray was that great, it was that they had a good formula and chemistry, that worked,
That other teams feared.

E
ven though we lost to GB, and one could say we played poorly
in both PO games, it was the best showing by a dallas team in playoffs, in a long time.
We won the first game, even though sloppy and close, and played GB in GB a close game.

Now Dez, trying to franchise him was a huge mistake, you either do that and deal with how he acts, and then
let him go, or if you know you are going to keep him, which they did, just sign him early, in march and get it
done, over with, so you dont get him out of his groove, or get his mind thinking bad thoughts.

Just sign him, tell him he is greatest wr ever, and go to work Dez you the man.
The whole franchise thing , and contract disputes, just were not good for Dez from a mental standpoint,
and turned into him being overweight m out of shape, and not ready to play game 1.
With a guy like dez this was the worst thing they could have done.

Then the other defenders let go, I understand having to let players go, but did they even look at
who got the Turnovers in 2014 ??
Or were they judging by other standards, and just trying to get similar talent cheaper?

1. Fluke injury that had nothing to do with the franchise tag. 2. Not resigning Murray was the prudent move, not drafting an rb was a mistake. 3. Did you see what those players did for their new teams? Theyre now on the street and can be resigned..

Exactly how did they do that?

He only started one game for them. In that game, the Texans defense outscored their opponents. All Weeds had to do was show up and he gets credit for a W.

even though he didnt start the one game, they were down 0-10 and they won the game.
He won both games he played in, and had they started him over Hoyer, they might have won the playoff game.

Yeah Houston there is a problem, but in Dallas there is a Debbie, and it doesn't take Sherlock to know she's done.

Outside of Romo and Bryant, the denial of playmakers at skill positions across the board offensively, is simply astounding. Defensively as well.

How did the fluke injury occur??
prudent move or stupid move? It is a matter of opinion.
No team except dallas has ever let a MVP, and rushing champ RB go the following year, but still so many say it was the right thing to do.

How players do on other teams is largely irrelevant to how they would have done with dallas.
We resigned guys this year that if we didnt they might have the same fate , go elsewhere and not do too good.
