that doesn't mean he isn't good
he just isn't a shutdown corner (not even close) and not as good as he is played up to be

he gets beat a lot...a hell of a lot, but it wouldn't be bad to have him as the
2nd best corner on the team

Newman's shutdown play would go well with Hall's chance taking
He does succeed sometimes and would do it greatly when Newman's man is the primary target and the QB looks to go to Hall's man as a 2nd option

his route jumping would be golden in that type of situation

he'd get beat a lot but the situation as a whole wouldn't have him playing as bad as he did the last two years

Why not just sign Samuel for that type of mone and keep the draft picks or we could drop down to the second tier and get Rudy Gay at CB

My only worry is if we pay this guy 10 million or close to 10 million, are we going to be able to pay Terrence Newman more than that?

The entire league knows that T New is a much better shutdown corner than D.Hall.

I've read their disappointed in D'Brick. I think the word is that he plays soft.

On a side note, I think it would be hilarious to read the board if Hall becomes a Cowboy. I think it would outshine the number "I will quit the Cowboys" posts that were made after T.O. signed.
:laugh2: :laugh2: :lmao:  SO TRUE WG

??? I know some feels that he is overrated but he is still a very good YOUNG CB who is PROVEN! That is not expensive. Anyone you get at 28 could be a bust easily. I take a sure thing anyday.

I'm not sure how to feel about this, on one hand i know Hall has great ability and potential to be special but on the other hand why hasn't he shown more of it already? Was the coaching in ATL really that bad? If we could somehow get him for a reasonable price (which I don't think we can do) then I say why not bring him in, but if we sign him we are going to overpay for a current underachiever and we don't need that.

Well they do suck as a team.:D

I'm gonna try to remain optimistic about this possible acquisition because when you're surrounded by talent your play improves. #28 huh? Can we give them our 2nd rounder instead?:D

all I know is everyone wants upgrade at CB ..but wants to complain about Jerry goin after a TOP CB.....whether you like his personality or not the guy is a real good corner and easy top 10 at position...and I would love to see it happen....not sure about the 10 mill a year though

What I have seen of Hall is that he thinks he can do whatever he wants regardless of anything. I dont think that will change. He is who he is.

Tank - seemed to want to make things right
TO - seemed to want to make things right

therefore they were good risks

Hall seems like its his way or no way and you have to accept it. He layed into Petrino pretty hard last year on the sidelines when HALL was CLEARLY in the WRONG. I felt bad for Petrino and ashamed for Hall.

I getting a bad feeling here guys, I think the G-men loss freaked out Jerry and it is clouding his judgement.

Are we actually considering trading #28 for Hall and then paying him $10 mill per?

Why dont we just go after Samuel for that type of coin and keep our #1?

This whole thing doesnt make sense, am I missing something here fellas?

We're not going to give Hall, Samuel or any other CB not named Newman $10M a year. Having $20M a year tied up in your starting corners leaves you too gimped in other areas of the team.

Everybody else says hes an elite Cb but we dont. If we sign him with newman and hall with our front 7 stopping the run its over we will have a top 3 defense without a doubt just because of 1 player.

Not necessarily. You're not going to get anything better than Hall with that pick, and history isn't kind to that range. It's kind of a hit-or-miss area of the draft. And I think we all agree that CB is a first-round need, maybe even with that pick if the team goes RB with the first one.

It's worth debating whether Hall is worthy of all the money he's asking for, but the trading of the pick itself doesn't bother me. Personally I hate the guy, and it would continue the erosion of the great locker room atmosphere BP built.

I'd rather stick to the draft. We have to pay Newman eventually. We need a good solid corner who can be drafted and play better than Reeves who could be a strong second corner eventually. I don't think that should be too hard to find.

Yes, on Newman but he is going to be 30 yrs old this yr. Henry is going to be 32 and Hall is 24 yrs old this yr.

You want to give a big contract to a 30 yr cb who has been having problems the feet and knees. If you have a young proven cb you have leverage on Newman, but if you have nobody on the roster then Newman has the leverage.

Plus you can't spend 1/3 of your cap on dbs. Look at the past 2 Super Bowl winners winning with average cb, but dbs who could tackle. Our secondary was horrible at tackling. Everyone just hit with the shoulder and did not wrap up. Toomer goes through 3 Cowboy dbs on his way to a TD. That summed up our secondary play.

if we get the two atl 2nd round picks im for it. Hall may not be elite, but he is very young and very talented.

People seem to have taken Hall being overrated into meaning that he sucks.

he may not be top 3 but hes definitely top 10.

Also I don't think if we trade for him, Jerry pays that much(100 million).

Now if he does not agree to a reasonable price then he can go to a losing team who needs a cb. But if he wants to be a SB winner, he needs to understand he needs teammates as well.

i think hall is over rated but he is a good player. he also has to play man up on every teams best reciever there and he won't here.
there is something to it or jerry would'nt be looking at the contract numbers but that may be the end of it. we shall see
