That's your competency.

So because you have two ears and own a television set, you immediately have an understanding of accoustics and the positioning of network broadcasting equipment.

Who knew that somone could gain such vast knowledge with so little effort?

:laugh2:

I think youre on to something man. It must be a network conspiracy. They are purposely positioning the broadcasting equipment in areas at TS to negate crowd noise to give off the effect of a lame crowd.

Its funny how they seem to position the equipment in the right spots at every other game except ours lol. Silly man.

I've always thought this. I remember one critical Patriot third down, they pan to the crowd, and maybe 1 guy out of the 50 or so in the camera shot was making any noise.

That 1 guy must have been Theebs

Silly us, and here we were assuming that the tv crews weren't going out of their way to make our crowd seem so docile compares with other stadiums. Someone really should call the commish and tell him about this.

Please tell me the two of you are being intentionally obtuse.

This is ridiculous.

Since its apparent the two of you are struggling to grasp a simple concept via simple statements, I'll try asking a series of questions:

1) Do either of you know anything about the design or lay out of Texas Stadium? (If the answer to this question is 'no', there's no need to proceed. And we can reasonably assume that any conclusions you've come to concerning crowd noise are highly specious.)

2) Do either of you know how the design or lay out of Texas Stadium might affect the positioning of network broadcasting equipment?

3) Do either of you know how the positioning of broadcast equipment might affect its sound reception within the stadium?

See? It's just that simple. It's not an issue of conspiracy; it's one of construction.

I watch much football, and I can safely say that some stadiums seem loud on TV while others seem quiet on TV. I've even noticed that the sound level changes depending on the network I'm watching. Ergo, I can reasonably assume that I can't judge actual crown noise from my couch.

I'm sorry, tell me again which architect firm, broadcasting company and sound engineering team you work for? It's a wonder you can find time to watch the games, holding down three jobs.

None.

And that's my entire point.

I'm not making poorly contrived generalizations about the noise level of a stadium crowd.

However, I can spot specious reasoning and posters who are clearly unable to fight their own battles when I see them. ;)

Don't bother with logic and reason. They're the type of people that think watching college football on TV qualifies as scouting because they have watched every game.

I'd also like to include that despite the fact that we live in VA and have a nice TV with a surround sound system, I promise that I don't profess to know jack about the TS acoustics. ;)

The Texas Stadium crowd could very well be a poor one. I really don't know because I've only been once. But it's highly doubtful that one can accurately gauge crowd noise just by sitting on his or her couch.

Oh, and what do you mean watching college football isn't scouting? ;)

I think its comical that people sitting at home have such a loud opinion.

Try going to a game every now and then. Then you can say something.

The crowd was very good today, especially given how ridiculous brady is.

I am so tired of all these out of towners passing judgement. Go root for whatever team is in the city you live in then. If it bothers you that much.
ive been to the meadowlands and buffalo and a Dallas crowd doesn't come close to one of those.

well so have I and we do. Buffalo imo has the best home field when they are winning.

The meadowlands holds more people, but I didnt see it as any louder.

I guess we are both right.

Interesting. Because New York fans actually living in New York frequently tell me that the Meadowlands is permeated by cantankerous blue hairs who spoil the fun for everyone else.

I've only been to Buffalo last Monday night and it was insane how loud the Buffalo fans were for there team which isnt that good. After reading this post I watched some of the game today over again as I did with last weeks Buffalo game, both in high def with surround sound and the game last Monday was so much louder you could tell within minutes.

Sure it was Monday Night, vs the cowboys. But this game represented two teams that are considered the best in thier conference and a possible super bowl preview. I can honestly say I expected more from our home field advantage. I don't want anyone to take it personal if you were there and did your part as a Dallas fan, just my opinion as I was curious after reading this post.

Listen man, is it the loudest stadium in the league no. Is it bad, no.

Ever been to a game in philly? Its severely overrated, I went to the vet a couple of times, I was at the last home opener ever against Dallas and it wasnt any louder than Texas Stadium tonight. Regardless of what your surround sound is telling you.

I have been to games in Buffalo, cleveland, philly, New York and Dallas obviously.

Only Buffalo is louder, it is a different type of crowd. New york has about 15000 more fans and it doesnt come off as much louder. And the link in philly is very quiet. It is a known fact that they blew their home field advantage with the new stadium. ITs not even as loud as the link, which in my opinion was severely overrated when it comes to crowd noise. Tough turf, fights in the crowd yes, really loud, no.

Again all this whining about the Fans at the stadium from people who dont attend the games is foolish.

Wow, you have no clue what you're talking about?

I've been to plenty of Eagles games at the Linc. It may not be as loud as it was at the Vet, but that place still rocks everytime that I've gone. Very loud. Don't know what games you're talking about.

I watched some of the Dallas-N.E. game and the crowd looked pathetic.

I have been to seattle and that is loud, it gets tiring standing though. They get alot of false starts, I saw a stat that they were number one and the whole stadium shakes when the game is on the line. I live in Edmonton and nothing beats the NHL playoffs my ears feel like a rock concert after. So there must be a some stats on false starts out there.
