I feel like that would be unfair to the player. He has a history yes but maybe the team just doesn't feel like giving an injury report any earlier than they have to.

I'll feel sorry for him later. Maybe during the weekly Zone therapy session.

How many other teams are currently without their 5 best front-7 players?

Top DE - Spencer
Top DT- Melton
Best trio of LBs - Lee, McClain, Durant

It's happened to us each of the last few years and you're blind as a bat if you haven't noticed.

Our D gets slammed with injuries until they're no longer competitive. Then fans get to spend the whole offseason pretending we sucked because of some huge coaching failure ("the scheme is outdated!" is my favorite).

Come on now, we can't whine about our top defensive players being hurt when most of them are here because of their injury situations,,, most of them at a "discount". This was all very predictable and likely.

Luckily, his replacement at MLB (Hitchens) played reasonably well

X the kid played good for a rookie

lead the team in tackles

plus that fourth down stop was big time play IMO

The problem is Durant sucks, McClain is a reclamation project, Spencer has had one year in his entire career where he's been an impact player, Melton is coming off a nasty knee injury and is a downgrade from the starter from last year and Sean Lee is out on a yearly basis.

This isn't a tremendous core of talent you're talking about here when you look at it.

It's the best we've got, and likely good enough to make us an average D if they can stay relatively healthy on that side of the ball. Which, once again, it looks like they won't be able to.

McClain's not just a "reclamation project" like Amobi Okoye or something. He's a reclamation project who played lights out in his first 2 games.

As for the other guys, you can make pretty much anyone "suck" if you just put a negative spin on them and ignore their positives.

"Romo has 1 playoff win, Witten's slow, Murray fumbles, Dez is a ticking time bomb..."

It seems like the more we win, the bigger of a hater you become.

Hopefully he is 100% and ready to go Sunday. I would feel a lot better about a win.

Also...the banner ad below just told me that I was a winner and it was not a joke. It lied. Well I assume it lied anyway. Maybe I just missed the opportunity of a lifetime.

I guess we have different definitions of "very predictable and likely."

Melton, Durant and McClain ALL have groin injuries. That's our very best DL and our top 2 remaining LBs after Lee. None of them had any groin issues prior to this season, so I'd love to know how you saw those injuries coming.

Oh, and we're only 3 games in. Injury Gods need to leave us the hell alone.

Garrett says Melton had a hammy issue.

Durant IMO is no great loss, McClain we need, Spencer IMO after his injury will be lucky to add anything this year at all. Hitchens while having some nice plays is no McClain. Our def is hurting big time, stopping Bree's from having a big game is gonna be some test for this defense. Can we run the rock vs their defense and win time of possession?

They were saying on TV that it was a stupid offensive play. They swept the lineman and opened up the gap to allow Hitch to fill the hole and make the play. If they would have stuck with the power play who knows what would have happened. Not taking anything away from Hitch's play. He was way back there in the backfield. He did what he was supposed to do. Took advantage of their stupidity. Loved it.

I really don't want to be embarrassed (again) on national TV. I know we've beat them before with Ro but that's when we've had Ware and the others.

I don't believe we will be fine with Ro. This team was consistently soft until he showed up on the scene.

Agreed...there seems to have been a decided difference in their attitude with Ro in there...of course, it is only two games that he was in there....
