the top 3 rated teams are dallas, seattle and patriots.

in a head-to-head contest, i see:
dallas > seattle (2014, and we only got better)
seattle > patriots (just played)
new england > dallas (the Pats O can score better on our D than even our O can score on their D)
we are basically one edge rusher short...

unfortunately, we would beat seattle in this scenario before playing patriots.
of course, lots of surprises and injuries can happen...

Any team with a lot of offense I don't want to face. That includes the falcons even with their weaknesses. Giants are still a mild worry to me.

Any given week, but come playoff time, gotta take New England as the favorites. Coaching and QB play are huge keys to success.

Right now just waiting to see the Cowboys clinch the division and hopefully get the top seed to avoid having to win 3 games to have a chance at the SB. As for whom Dallas may play? I don't care, much like past SB teams they faced real good teams. Heck in the 90's you knew a tough GB and San Fran team were waiting in the wings and the winner of the NFC Championship game would be the SB champ

Oakland will be the thorn in NE's butt. But will the refs give Brady another tuck rule bs call.....

Right now, I'd say Seattle and New England are the best teams in each conference and favored to reach the Superbowl.......Dallas may have a better offense, but Seattle has a much better defense...

seattle D is definitely a lot better than us.
however, our D has improved since 2014.
seattle O and D seemed to be slightly regressed since 2014.
we crushed them in 2014 with behind murray.
with dak's running threat and zeke being zeke, our O seems to be more dominant than 2014.

If Romo was leading us I think we'd be more legit contenders this year with his playoff experience .

With championship experience I'd definitely place Seattle and the Pats well ahead of us.

Seattle is who will probably end our season.

I just can't see us getting past them without a greater defense but that's why we play the games.

Seattle is better today than when Dallas played them in 2014. I would not consider the Boys a better team.

You just hit the nail on the head.

Dak is the best choice for this week, and next, and next, so long as this continues.

But if you want to win a Super Bowl, then Romo is the better option right now.

What an interestingly complex issue this is.

The Patriots offense in particular is a really bad match-up vs. the Dallas defense because of the lack of a pass rush. If you can't hit Brady early and often you're probably just gonna die, it's the only thing that makes him play badly. Other QBs can be limited in other ways, but you aren't going to out-scheme Brady at this point in his career because he's seen friggin' everything. You just have to beat his *** before he can get off the quick passes like the Giants were able to in their Super Bowls, and the Seahawks almost did in the Super Bowl.

That said, this Patriots team is not the 2014 Super Bowl team - their defense is much worse, especially against the pass. The Cowboys could easily win TOP and score 28 on them, the question is if this defense can keep them from hitting 31+. If the D over-achieves then suddenly it could be anyone's game because the Patriots defense is not what it was even just last year.

There's so much football left to play. I'm concerned, still, about our defense. We can't afford to lose any more man cover CBs, and need Scandick to be more like Scandrick again as it is. The pass rush is as good as it's going to get. We proved this weekend we can win a shootout with a top-flight QB, but who wants to have the season depending on winning 3-4 games like that when it's win-or-go-home.

We still don't have a significant lead even in the NFCE. Any one of those three teams can legitimately catch us, and we're not past Thanksgiving yet. The whole season could turn in a week or two, and people will be back to blaming the coaching and the play calling and the defense again. Excited about where we're at right now (two or three more wins likely gets us into the post season, after all), but it could all crumble in the blink of an eye still, too. Ask a Vikings fan.

That's what makes the NFL so much fun.

I've said from the beginning Jerry will screw this up. There's still time to get it right .
