lmao...hard to argue that, but I think Fasano could be a solid TE....if he can stay healthy. I just don't think Ayodele is right for the 3-4.

Hey, I agree with your take on Fasano. I think he could be too, but outside of FB, I don't think there's an easier position to find capable starters than at TE.

I find it hilarious how people are saying we got Pacman for Fasano and Ayoldele. Talk about suspending reality.
They're just looking at the net result of all of the transactions.

We get:
Pacman
#100

We lose:
Fasano
Ayodele
#126

In the end, you have to be happy with that I think.

Rewind to 2006 ... I was ripping into the Fasano pick like a mad be-otch on hormones.

Hindsight is 20-20, but we are to NEVER draft back-up players with day 1 picks.

Well the concensus around the football world seems to be that we are drafting Felix Jones in the 1st round to backup Barber.

Let's see:

3 catches

3TD's

cost = no draft pick

vs

28 catches - over 2 years!

1 TD

cost = 2nd round draft pick

And I saw one guy who made plays when he got the opportunity and another who failed to.

I'll take Curtis.

Of coures you would, it wouldn't make any sense for you to admit we haven't seen enough of Curtis to say he's better. That'd be the exact opposite of the illogical argument you're trying to make.

Me? I'll wait till the guy actually plays, I don't know, more than 35 snaps in the NFL.

I understand that, but they are ignoring a lot of other intricacies and complications in there in doing that.

True to a point.... Curtis has capitalized on his FEW opps. Sometimes thats enough.

I hear ya. I think he can be replaced pretty easily, and we may already have a better player on the roster with Curtis...eventually. It obviously wasn't the right pick, in hindsight. I just have a hard time putting up with the people that say he absolutely sucks, and use their dissaproval of where he was drafted as their sole justification of why.

I'm leaving this thread now, but not before declaring theogt, hos, iceberg and myself winners by TKO. (unless Fasano becomes an all pro: in which case we are ALL wrong: but I seriously doubt that will happen)

This pisses me off...

I went ballistic when we picked Fasano anyway and now we trade him and a starter for a single fourth after spending a second on him...

I hate that bastid. This better not be the end of this... we got gyped if it is...

It is the end of this because Fasano won't amount to much. You will look back and think it was incredible to get any draft pick for this guy.

With Akin gone now, maybe we already have the other LB on the team and won't need to draft one :D

#22 - Phillips
#28 - Roy Williams (trade)

New LB - Roy Williams
