***Dallas trades Fasano and Akin to Miami for 4th round pick (#100)

And by the way- Fasano was NOT drafted as a backup; some people here have a very short memory. We were going to the 2 TE to protect Bledsoe and Fasano was drafted to be a starter.

Rewind to 2006 ... I was ripping into the Fasano pick like a mad be-otch on hormones.

Hindsight is 20-20, but we are to NEVER draft back-up players with day 1 picks.

When Fasano was picked, I broke the remote control.

I'd advise not watching today, because it's likely that every one of our 3-4 picks today will become backups.

Cheers.

Give up. It's a lost cause. People have made up their minds, and won't listen to reason, or fact, for that matter. The fact that they already think that Curtis is a better blocker than Fasano says it all.

Bitterness can be blinding.

Agreed...Between watching how he does in Miami and how the backup scenario here in Dallas develops as well as the changes in 2 TE formations, Fasasno is going to be missed, IMHO...I wonder if trading a 2nd round player like that for a 4th would mean we could trade a 1st rounder like BobbyC for a 3rd, eh?

Feels like we got fleeced

That would explain us bringing in a TE on a pre-draft visit. And basically we got Pacman for Ayodele and Fasano - not a bad deal.
its even better, we got Pacman and a fourth round SWAP.

I can't wait for the rue posts when Fasano catches a 4th quarter TD to get the Dolphins within 28.

I wasnt a fan of the trade....

But it is what it is......If Jerry could of got more....he would of...

I just dont think either of those players were in our future plans......Fasano is a backup in Garrett system....and the brass must of felt that Curtis and whoever is the 3rd TE have just as much upside as Fasano does.

So we get a high 4th and Pacells gets a player that can help them achieve a 8-8 record and the media can all claim what a genius Bill Bill is.

The Fins got 2 solid starters for a 4th. That is a good deal any way you look at it.

Yes....solid starters on a bad team....I give you that....

Hos and iceberg are right guys. The majority of you that hate this move need to do two things: 1)stop beating up Jerry for Parcell's overrating and drafting Fasano in the 2nd round: he's been avg. and injury prone: that's a fact 2) stop factoring Ayodele into the mix AT ALL. He was brutal last year and was absolutely going to be released, as Hos pointed out. Settle down.

He is very disrespectful.

I remember not long ago he said that you needed training wheels for your snowmobile. What a cheap shot. :D

Solid starters?

Wow.

Ayodele was arguably the worst player on this defense and Fasano didn't appear to be going to the next level. Yeah, both guys will be starters on a horrible football team. But calling them solid starters is akin to calling the last girl left in the bar at 2:00AM, "Miss America."

lmao...hard to argue that, but I think Fasano could be a solid TE....if he can stay healthy. I just don't think Ayodele is right for the 3-4.

Ayodele and Fasano greatly and I do mean GREATLY improve the Dolphins. They hardly make a blip here.

Both were backups. Why are people so married to them?

It's that they greatly improve the Dolphins and we let them get that improvement for a 4th round pick. I dont' think anything has a problem with them being traded -- just what they were trade for. If it would have been their 3rd rounder, I bet everyone would be happy with it.

Exactly.

I find it hilarious how people are saying we got Pacman for Fasano and Ayoldele. Talk about suspending reality.

We gave the Dolphins three starters for a 4th and a 6th round swap, stop involving the Pacman deal in it to make yourselves feel better.
