For 2017. The last number of every line is the passer rating on that player's targets at that distance and/or area of the field.

Next to the target distance is the catch rate, yards per attempt, and passer rating, combined from all three directions (L, M, and R) at that distance. Dez caught 73% of his targets under 10 yards, for example. Each target at that distance gained an average of 6.6 yards, 56% of his yardage was after the catch, with a 79.4 passer rating.

Below the target distance, the direction of the pass is broken down (L, M, and R). For example, on passes between the numbers (middle) less than 10 yards past the line of scrimmage, Dallas QB had a 91.5 passer rating when targeting Bryant. This included 148 yards after the catch and 5 dropped passes.

Compiled from PFF data

So on over 20 yards:
Dez 4 of 19

Butler 6 of 9

Butler caught more with less than half the targets.

Maybe it's not the QB...

Obviously Butler should be dominant at 20+ yard throws. No one gives a crap about him and he has speed. Dez/Beasley are the ones that attracted attention. These stats aren't thorough enough to tell the whole story. How many passes were catchable? How many are in double coverage? Which ones were a busted coverage where the WR ran free? If someone watched every one of these throws individually and formulated an opinion I'm pretty sure they'll draw a different conclusion from someone who just looked at these stats.

Butler should be absolutely destroying the 20+ yard category but he was only decent at it. Dallas needs a more threatening receiver to take his spot.

We have no speed or playmaker receiver at TE either. Im sure Witten isn't coming off the field for any passing snaps so no Dez or Switzer out of the slot. I hope this new wrs coach can build a playbook using speedy slot guys to break the monotony of having to rely on Witten. We definitely need a Te with speed, scoring and big play capabilities if we expect to make big plays. I'd cut Williams Hanna and witten and keep Dez, butler, Switzer, beasely and pick up an outside wr and red zone te with some speed athleticism in free agency or the draft. We need way better talent than just mediocre if we're playing every snap. Playoff caliber receiver at the te position is what we need. Then we need to run more plays w 2 slot wrs or rbs too. I'm glad we have no fbs what a waste of a power back

How about playoff caliber receiver at receiver were bottom 5 to 10 in the league.

We'll he hasn't missed a passing snap since he started a hundred years ago. Plus he's just getting those little rinky dink passes. They don't equate to scores or wins. 3 plays over 20 yards. 4-tds. That's pretty weak for an every snapcount guy. Bye Twill bye Hanna bye Witten. I'd take Martellus, celek, Graham, Gates, just about any of these guys have just as much or more playmaking skills. I was hoping Rico but I don't understand why we hanging on to 82. He's just a part timer being glorified by his snapcounts instead of his big play and scoring capabilities.

INT was not available for slot targets, so no passer rating.

Compiled from PFF data

Thanks for the info.

So do these numbers account for "catchable passes/balls," or is it just the simple attempts/completion data?

Up the middle or right side line are most passes for all receivers, except for Beasley...

Thank you Percy
It just goes to show you sometimes your eyes don't lie it was obvious all year not only did Dez not get separation, he didn't work to the ball as hard as he used to and dropped a lot of passes
Yet we continue to force the ball to him in a attempt to keep him appeased on the Sidelines

All we had to do was put Butler over there and let him beat a few corner backs deep and it would a change the whole dynamic of defenses coverage reducing pressure on Beaz

Dez dropped 5 passes from slot....translation to me is that he should not be put in slot.

What type of coverage did Dez have vs Butler? The stats don't include that info, I've never seen Butler or Williams getting saftey help over the top coverage.

So on over 20 yards:
Dez 4 of 19

Butler 6 of 9

Butler caught more with less than half the targets.

Maybe it's not the QB...
That a dumb analogy he caught all of 2 balls more X he also dropped passes at a higher rate with less throws, which means had he had more targets he'd double Dez's drops.
Brice is still looking for work, had Dez been cut he would've been a tier 1 signing. give it up...lol

Oh and I thought stats don't matter, they don't tell the story...lol
