He's not the wide open guy out there drawing blanket coverage like last year. Not with Cooper mia.

Now that he's drawing more man to man he's turned back into a pumpkin. Lol

Our 12 TD a year te core last year has regressed back into a 3-4 TD a year te core without Cooper just like some people predicted.

All those te formation passing plays with very little to show for it for over 10+ years
The change is his health and the QB situation. It's ridiculous to ignore those factors, but ignoring what doesn't suit your narrative has long been the foundation of your posts on this site.

so the guy has basically been out or injured almost every game. Add in the fact our QB(Cooper) wasnt exactly lighting up that stats page and some of you want to blame schultz? How have Gallup's numbers looked so far this year? I can promise you they didnt sign Gallup to his deal to put up the kind of numbers he has had so far. So this is kind of a Schultz has looked bad so far this year..... uhm, no kidding.

I'm a Schultz fan and loved that we brought him back while others wanted to kick him aside, because apparently anyone can do what he does. Right now I hate that the anti-Schultz camp is getting more ammo because that's just bad for the team. I still think he's a very good TE, but he hasn't been right this year and am curious if it's the injury, Rush, or teams have picked up how to play him better. Probably some combo of all those things so will be interested how that goes when Dak is back.

Bottom line the Cowboys thought the contract he was asking for was too expensive and wanted him to prove his worth again this season. If they too are dissapointed with performance and don't plan to retain him they may still think of trading him. That's all

The wr core and the core isn't as potent as last year

He's been injured

Teams in our division have improved especially philly. lol

He's getting $12 million a year so he's being studied more

Id say there is some truth to all of it. But it still didnt make any sense not to pick up one of those 8-9-or 10 tes in fa even if franchising him considering how much we use multiple te formations.

Regardless of the reasoning our te core is on pace to score 3 tds this year Rogers.

I know y'all think it's everybody else's job besides these tes to make big plays and score every week but

our te core put up good numbers last year but it's been a dumpster fire for 10 + years.

Id agree that his injury is prolly hampering his performance. But I still think having a less potent wr core and no Jarwin has had an adverse affect also

Plus the teams in our division have improved and it's hard to put up consistent numbers as a te when ya got no go up and get a ball skills. Js

We use mainly 11 and 12 formations pretty much exclusively and we lost Jarwin and didn't replace him with a bonifide starter #2 te

Now Schultz is banged up and there's been no bonafide replacement for him or jarwin. Just a crap shoot on a couple of unproven rookie tes.

There's absolutely no excuse not to have 2-3 proven starters at te considering the design of this offense.

There was like 10 fa tes available from 2-7 million per year that were just as good as Schultz in talent even if not statistically. But we didn't grab a bonifide starter. I pleaded it all off-season. And here we are now. Lmao

Now our te core is on pace to score 3 tds this year and our offense is far from being playoff worthy just like I told ya it would be. Its not a new problem. Its a 10+ year old problem.

Our te core fell off a cliff regardless of the 10 years of excuses Rogers.

Injuries are part of the game. We've been running this same dual te scheme for 15 years +

Its always an excuse why we have a 3-4 td a year te core for a decade.

Run some different formations for Goodness sakes.

He should be allowed to walk and continue his career elsewhere. We should absolutely not have any hard feelings with Schultz since he gave us a good 5 years, but we have some very capable and cheap rookies on this roster now.
Winning a Superbowl has to do with assembling the best talent on both sides of the ball.. It's hard to win a championship much less a playoff game w a mediocre te if he can't compete at the playoff level. Just ask anybody that followed # 82 the last 8+ years. Js But cheap has nothing to do with it.
This is a stats driven forum that doesn't consider the coverage players are drawing at all. Jarwin scored 3 tds in a meaningless game against the Giants just like Schultz scored 4 tds in meaningless rest your starter blowout games against Philly and all of a sudden we got a stud at te. Lmao. Neither of these tes ever scored against a winning team ever. And neither have that go up and get a ball skills or any clutch'ness when the game is on the line. How many defenders they're drawing means more than stats do

This is actually a nice problem to have for once! Schultz can be a solid player when healthy and Ferguson looked like he has some moves. Maybe work both guys in. They can just let schultz go if the other guys show enough.

The fallacy is thinking we can win something with a te core that only produces 3-4 tds a year playing all this 11 and 12 personell..

Pigs will fly before that happens.

Defenses know exactly how to force ya to throw to your weakest skilled players who can't score. Somebody has to carry the scoring avgs throughout 3-4 playoff games.
It won't be a DC Te that does it
We only have 1playoff TD by a te in over 20+ years. In a losing effort might I add.

Some peeps are selling some te koolaide but they've watched these mediocre tes win nothing for us for 20+ years

Scoring ability against top defenders trump's taking what the defense gives ya anyday.
They'll give ya the kitchen sink if it's just enough to lose the game. Lol

Tonight proved, once again, that Dalton Schultz is a waste of money, and a waste of a roster spot. Hendershot and Ferguson are both better than Schultz and are making pennies in comparison.

Knowing Jerry, they will throw Schultz right back out there when he’s able to play. But if they were smart, they would let the young kids keep showing what they are capable of doing.
Shultz was one of the league’s most productive and sure handed TEs last year. He is damaged goods right now due to injury, but pump the brakes….Hendershot keeps getting holding penalties, and neither TE has scratched the surface of what Schultz did last season. They are getting their chance because he is injured. If he can get healthy during the year, he will have value later, but he will also bring a comp pick in next year’s draft.

After this year there is no use for him

Sure there is: TE #3.

Surely, he's better than McKeon even if Hendershot and Ferguson have higher ceilings.

I'm talking about 2022, not 2023.

He can still increase his value; just has to make the most of his reps.

Jerry doesnt throw anyone anywhere that MM and Moore.

he hasnt been healthy or with this QB that seems to have a better relationship with him is back..

Hes out after this season but given hes under a 10mil deal as FT you use him up.. stay younger and cheaper next year

His place is on the field hes signed and if healthy he should play. Jerry has ZERO say who lays and how many snaps.

6-3 Detroit at the half

Where is all the offensive potency at te this week????

Detroit is giving up 35 points per game.

The guy is not a bad player. Is literally out there on one leg, give him some credit. With the two rookies, this is a very good TE position.

Be happy that we didn't break the bank for him, still have a very reliable TE this year and will get some sort of compensation for him after this season.

Win/Win. All good.

I agree he’s the most over rated player on the team.

Schultz is most effective on pass heavy offensive system.

In a run heavy system he is less effective.

That is why Schultz was so much more productive last season vs this season, the offensive emphasis has changed and so has his role. Schultz is much better receiver than blocker.

This was even before his injury.
