Schultz "does" have a place on this team.
The guy has his flaws, and he's limited but he's not a bum.

Hes not a guy that has zero skills to offer.
His knack and feel for soft spots in zone coverages does comes in handy and he's been frequent about that.
He can bring serviceable production in certain " schematically " way - per soft zones, roll-outs,

Up until now, he had been very durable and available.
I have no issue with franchising him in a " rental " year, but like that they recognize him as a certain tier type TE than among the
highest paid TEs.

The one spot that has me wanting him outta the lineup is his blocking, whether in-line or in space, he's mediocre at it.
and it's affecting too many plays, such as those overkilled bubble screens Kellen insists on running,
and we tend to lose the edge in the run game with Dalton's blocking.
A good TE would knock that edge guy on his keyster, and then go on to downfield block. . He acts like it's a prom dance.

I've said all along Schultz got his going away gift the day he signed his franchise tag with Dallas. And now with Hendershot and Ferguson sharing TE duties, Dalton has punched his one way ticket to Palookaville. TE has never been a position Dallas puts much value in as far as pay scale. And certainly he was not gonna be the first.

Hendershot is a barely adequate blocker now but Schultz is not even on his level,he wont even block a CB for petes sake.

It's fine that we disagree. But talk like this ruins our community.

You are lecturing other people about mental acuity, while talking like a 6th grade playground bully.

That's just not accurate. First of all talk like THIS , Do you see the trash We have to put up with ? Dak Sux. Oh yeah THAT really raises the level of civil discourse.

The wild conspiracy theories and flat out rudeness of some of these people, so forgive me if I do not shed a tear for these people. And talking about 6th grade playground bullies

I'm not the bully but I will punch the bully in the mouth. They are the ones who try and I do mean try to shut down any thread with Dak Sux. So if they or you want civility here's some advice be civil.

Show me a post where I just launched on somebody . I meet civility with civility and I pretty much ignore the petty childish bs on here. But come on callin me out for the BS That's a little shall we say unbalanced

Tonight proved, once again, that Dalton Schultz is a waste of money, and a waste of a roster spot. Hendershot and Ferguson are both better than Schultz and are making pennies in comparison.

Knowing Jerry, they will throw Schultz right back out there when he’s able to play. But if they were smart, they would let the young kids keep showing what they are capable of doing.
The guys in 105.3 keep saying that Dalton Schultz took himself out of last weeks practices and games to wait for Dak to return. Even the front office was surprised by him missing the game. Honestly dude is a progress stopper and I wanna see what Ferguson and Hendershot can do with Dak instead of seeing a guy who is just here to pat his stats and hoping for a mega deal.

There is no need to bash him, but seeing how the others do going forward he may not be needed next year

Probably the reason why he is not signed long term. They had no replacements prior to the draft which caused them to pay a franchised amount. Can’t see it happening again for Schultz.

I've been on the Schultz wagon and have been very dissapointed this season. Being injured has been part of the problem, but it's clear he's a bigger part of this offense with Dak than without.

We'll see when Dak gets back, but the Cowboys may consider a trade before the deadline. I wonder if that may be part of the reason he was inactive today?
Maybe a 4th if another GM is drunk? We can hope.

Oh wow, I hadn't heard that first bit about him voluntarily pulling himself out. Very interesting

Okay, Jerry and company have made enough legitimate blunders without having to blame him for not predicting the future.

Do you think they would be paying the franchise tag price for Schultz if they knew their two rookie TE's would be so productive?

Let's just be grateful we have that depth, They also contributed to a good start despite losing the starting QB for five games. You never know, we might end up needing all three this season when it's all said and done. Then we can thank Schultz and give him the opportunity to check the free agent market

1 TD in 6 games by a te core is not very productive. Not when your passing scheme revolves around a dominant 11 and 12 personnel group on every snap. That's why our offense isn't that great.

Our dropoff at wr caused a bigger dropoff at the te position just as I EXPECTED.

Any te in this league could score 1 TD every 6 games playing 40 passing snaps per game. Js

Our scheme is built around jag tes who play every passing down but they don't have any big play capabilities.

Use the ignore feature.

I'm like the ignores collector on this board.

You don't have to tell them you're ignoring them, just ignore all trolls. It makes for a better experience.

I think it's way premature to say those guys are better, but they certainly could threaten Schultz' value to the team given Schultz salary. But that's for after the season. It makes no sense to says Schultz has no place this year given that he is already on the team and the team has a commitment to pay his salary
