They could have easily lost the Super Bowl that they won. They could have lost just like the Eagles did.
True, but casual fans love winners. Getting to the SB was probably enough to sell a bunch of season tickets & winning it was even better. Remember businesses are the big marketing prize. You're not going to wow your customers by taking them to see a 6-11 team game if they're just visiting from out of state. Ask Jerry why being relevant is so important to him.

The Rams are a perfect example of the "Go All In" approach. Now they are, once again, a laughing stock.

The debate is between trying to stay relevent and competitive vs sacrificing ev erything for a Superbowl.

After they lose a couple of seasons and get some high draft picks, they'll be right back to potentially competing for Superbowls again, just like the Eagles. The Eagles won a superbowl, became our punching bag for a few years, retooled and they are in another superbowl. I'd much rather be bad for a few years and then win a Superbowl than have a perpetual 2nd round exit playoff team.

Nobody likes bad. Some posters don't like good either.

Watched a lot of Vikings games last year....there is a reason he is no longer on that team.....he's really not that good.

Did Dalvin price himself out of Dallas?

More than likely so. I'm expecting that Jerry and Stephen already know what his asking price is and wouldn't even consider agreeing to it. More often than not, what they consider significant isn't the player's idea of significant at all.

26 teams have $8M in space, and any team can create more at any time. It'd be stupid to do so, but any team could make a $10M contract fit.
There are more expenses that go on throughout the season, so they have to keep a cushion. Yes, they can cut some players, but is Cook worth it to a certain team without much cap space already? We'll see.

HE won't be playing then. No one is giving him big money at his age. He got cut from the Vikings he thought he was gonna get a pay increase?

Disagree.

Hitting a wall is exactly what they do.

There’s a list a mile long of guys who were top five fantasy picks one year and out of the league soon thereafter.

Larry Johnson, Priest Holmes, Shaun Alexander off the top of my head. There’s another dozen plus like that.

I admire Tennessee for trying to be ahead of it.
Disagree. You can generally see the decline happen over a few years. Just look at Zeke's rushing stats. They gradually when down over the years. Derrick Henry isn't showing any decline and would be safe to say he will give you at least two more years at a high level. I am 100% correct in my assessment.

You just described every RB in the league. Derrick Henry isn't going to suddenly hit a brick wall.
The Cowboys MUST have a dominate rushing attack to win. Dak isn't going to pass this team to a Super Bowl.
And we don't have the 85 Bears defense.
Maybe that's why McCarthy wants a better running attack this year. It's really not that complicated.

An aging running back with a ton of carries can hit a brick wall at any moment.
So can any RB with a ton of carries. and Derrick Henry is still producing at a high level.

For him to land here his money can’t approach what pollard is getting and he’d have to be willing to be the Change of pace guy.

all of these players need to take there multimillion dollar pay days and stash them and live off 5-600k a year and then when the next payday comes they can take less if market determines it. they are still living on 5-600k and it won’t bother them. but all of these guys max themselves out and buy mansions and cars and other things cough cough jets. why jets the dang teams own plans. but still they over extend themselves and they then need a 8-10m contract.
They all need to do what Shaq does... he says he lives off of 25% of his income and invests/saves the rest--- 75%. You will never go broke. He has no problem with blowing money at all, as long as it is part of the 25%. Wish players would follow the advice from Shaq, Michael, Magic, ....You can live the rich lifestyle you want, but be smart about it. Rather than continue with the same mentality you had when you were poor.

Gladly willing to be wrong but he’s in for a rude awakening Imo if he’s expecting $9,10m per year. 8 is likely a stretch. Gas in the tank or not he’s 27 and the rest of the running back market is devalued this offseason.

Maybe Miami or somewhere throws him 6 or he settles for $5 with likely triggers that can get him close to where he wants

He produced at a high-level last season, but he also had four straight games where he never rushed for more than 87 yards. In three of those games he rushed for under 3.0 per carry. He was dinged up some and missed the game against the Cowboys so the wear and tear is starting to show. He carried the ball 349 times last season which is the third time he’s had over 300 carries and he’ll be 29 next season. This is why Tennessee is looking to trade him. The top three rushers from last season all put up over 1500 yards but their teams missed the playoffs. You’re not going to win a championship these days riding an RB. Your QB has to produce in the passing game which is why the teams with the leading rushers didn’t make the playoffs. They all have bad QB situations. I wouldn’t mind having Derek Henry but not for a lot of money.

Yeah, that’s not it at all.
