Wouldn't shock me to see a 4th round pick beat out a 5th rounder....Make your own conclussions. But I took it as Wilson is the new MLBer...

Plus I've heard Hitchens is on the bubble anyway...
the follow up question indicates that he is not talking about Wilson as the starter. someone asked is that because they see Wilson as more of a WLB and Broaddus says they know what they have.

As I said, think about it logically. Wilson barely played last year. He's barely worked out this camp after getting shot with a paintball, only returned to the field a few days ago and he's now the clear #1 at MLB with Durant possibly being the comp?

It doesn't make sense but if it's true, that's quite a bold move by the coaching staff.

Well done. Sometimes we need to explain how 2+2 = 4 for these guys

I thought Wilson clearly outplayed Hitchens last year...but because he was a rookie...the staff didn't trust him. Now that he has been here for a while now....I can see them making this move. The love affair w/ a 5'11... 5th round MLBer...I don't understand.

Could be worse. Could be an undrafted noodle armed kid they're having a love affair with.

You won't get an argument out of me when it comes to Hitchens. I've always thought his ceiling was as a flex LB who can spot start when the need arises and be used in certain packages. I never saw him as a full time starting MLB in this league.

But Wilson has shown very little to date and is now just finally practicing, so the idea that he's the runaway leader for the starting MLB spot makes little sense.

I don't think Wilson played enough to say he clearly outplayed him. Only memorable play from him was getting beat in OT of the saints game. I agree that Hitchens is really a WLB, but he is better in coverage than Wilson and ihas always shown a good understanding of the defense, with great instincts, which is important at MLB. Maybe if Wilson went off in the next 2 preseason games he could compete, but I think Dallas has to see that first.

Hitchens himself said he does not consider himself given the starting job. But did say at the time it seems it was his to show he can keep it. And needs to work toward showing he is the starter.
Now this was before last weeks game and while Wilson was still on NFI.

I don't think Wilson who has done nothing yet compared to Hitchens is handed the job. Wilson will need to earn it and take it away from Hitchens.

Who cares they both stink. :lmao2:

Sorry, had to get that one there.

Anthony Hitchens was drafted with the 19th pick of the 4th round of the 2014 Dallas Cowboys.

It appears there's a lot of wishful thinking in this thread from you because you don't seem to like Hitchens, including the fact that just like Wilson, he was a fourth-round pick not a fifth-rounder.

I'd be happy to see Wilson come on and take the job, but I don't think he did anything to prove that he deserves it any more than Hitchens does. Frankly, I expect Durant to receive more playing time than both of them.

Stand corrected. Yet...I'm still ticked we didn't take LB Telvin Smith w/ that pick.:banghead:

Whoever can do a the best job up the middle vs run I don't care who it is. Rams were eating us up running up the gut and that was without their best RB Todd Gurley

Wilson barely played, don't see how one can reach the conclusion that he out played Hitchens.

Ignoring the fact that Hitchens measured in at 6'0, not 5'11, he was a 4th round pick (119th overall), just like Wilson (127th overall)
