Damn, Shawne Merriman is a stud...

Haaaah. Whatever. We saw the play. Igor is credited with both sacks, btw. Merriman has wreaked some degree of havoc to this point of the game, but so too have guys Williams and Castillo.

Thing is, we don't have a Steve Foley across from Ware right now. Foley is the guy offensive coordinators are worried about rushing. Just wait until we have another guy who can rush well, could be Fujita, Burnett, or somebody not on the team, but we don't have him right now. Not to mention, we don't do anything complex right now. Wait until next year. You can't learn the complexities of the 3-4 in 13 games, bottom line.

Thank god there's another thread about Merriman/Ware. You really can't have enough of these.

It may be a case of severe "Man-love"... or should I say "MerriMan-love".

I love Olshansky - he is one player I woild love on our team.

Merriman again- bad play from the Colts. What was Payton doing?

Well, Merriman said he'd make us regret it, and thus far he has. Sigh.

GIve it a few years before anyone can be evaluated. Merriman has an easier time since Ware is being force fed a new type of D. And remember that sacks are not everything.

I don't regret it. He has better stats then Ware but it's not like we picked up a bust or anything. Merriman did hold out of camp so maybe down the line his poor character traits might show - of course thats down the line which nobody knows what will happen. Ware could go off tonight and what would you say then?

What are peoples fascination with Merriman, yes he is a stud but we have a stud too. I'm not surprised that Merriman is having a better season, he played better competetion last year and so he was more NFL ready. But i sure like Ware's potential too and i believe he will be better than Merriman, he just needs more time like any young player to get better. I'm sure both teams are very happy with their picks.

Perhaps that (Merriman having a better season) is the reason for the fascination for Merriman.

Watch the guy play....he's good - very good. For whatever the reason, and I don't care what it is, he's playing better than Ware.

Who knows how this will all end up, but as of right now, Merriman is playing better.

He deserves the props.

He is having a good game today. That was another nice tackle on the busted play on 4th down.

It's simple: Merriman, like Ware, is learning a new system (the 3-4), yet HE gets sacks. Conversely, our guy "thinks" too much. But by all means, keep making excuses.

The problem Sarge is people think that acknowledging the good play of any of the other possible 1st round defensive picks that Dallas could have taken over Ware means dissing Ware.

To me it just means, we would've been fortunate with whoever we picked.

It's too early to tell who will have the most impact on their team. But they're all contributing as rookies on teams that are in the playoff chase. That says alot to me.

Whatever. Let's see if Merriman continues this trend for an entire career. A rookie season does not define a player.

Excuses or not, it does help that this is SD's second season in the 3-4 compared to our first. It does help that Merriman has played that position before unlike DeMarcus Ware.

These so called petty excuses just seem to make sense don't they? ;)

I'd like to see Ware have a big game today too.

and JJ

and Ferguson

and Spears

and Davis

and Crayton

and Shanle...

Ware and Merriman are both outstanding talents. They're both starting and doing well. There isn't any reason why the Cowboys and Bolts couldn't make out well here; why both the players can't enjoy success. It's quite possible they can.

This is funny.

Recently, everyone's been saying how we would have been better off with Brad Johnson. However-whoever's watching the Viqueens game today, you may want to change your minds.

Yes i've watched Merriman play a couple times and he is good but he is not a Cowboy, Ware's a Cowboy. Thats why i'm tired that everytime Merriman plays well we have to start a new thread about it. Down the stretch Merriman could struggle and Ware play fantastic and what does that mean now Ware is better. No both players are very good but they could both end up being busts too. Its too early to tell.

He is having a stroming game - fair play to him.
