Dan Patrick NBC

Patrick's take isn't worth mentioning but in that same segment, Dungy highlighted the missed 3rd down swing to Choice (far from an easy read/pass) as being the key Romo failing that cost Dallas the game. Ridiculous. I'm convinced nobody on set even watched the game. Romo was solid today. We fumbled, gave up big plays on D and ST, kept drives going with defensive penalties and missed kicks. But the truth isn't a sexy story lead like "Romo falls apart in December again."

Anytime a team loses, you can say the quarterback "didn't come through when his team needed him" -- unless he held touchdown drives every time his team had the ball and they still somehow managed to lose.

Patrick is right, though. *** was that pass to Roy?

if you need a job ESPN is hiring fools like you left and right

Did Dan give Romo credit from coming through against the skins?

I think Patricks point was the QB gets all the credit and takes all the blame. That is how it is. In saying that, sometimes the offense needs to carry the team. How about admitting the defense has won us several games when the offense can't score? Tonight the d had a tough night and needed the offense to win it. That did not happen

Only a complete idiot would say that.

I guess Romo should cover punts and chase Brandon Jacobs and catch the ball for Bennett and block for Felix Jones and order the coaches not to pull Jones for Barber after 10 yard and 8 yard runs, back to back.

The defense had breakdowns and the special teams gave up 10 points.. When you lose 2 out of 3 and fumble on offense.....

:laugh2:

I see and agree with his point. With Williams getting open, his receiver falling down, Romo could have placed that ball several places and Williams could have got it because he was so open, but Tony's pass was horrible. I am sorry, throw rocks, but great QB's make that throw.

Great QBs miss throws sometimes.

All of them.

Romo tried to bail the defense and st as much as he could today.

It's hard to ask him to play a perfect game.

Not to mention that Romo threaded the needle on so many throws today. You don't throw for 400 yards and 3 TDs and not turn the ball over and be the reason your team lost. I'm sorry. No. Absolutely not.

Romo threw a crappy pass to Roy, this is fact. So he missed one sure TD today. He did not throw any INTs. He did not fumble. He did not make any boneheaded plays. He played out of his mind and his passes were pretty much on the money all game.

To even hint at putting the loss on Romo is assinine.

Bennett dropped a pass that would have given us a first down on the opening drive. Instead we had to punt.

Barber stunk it up. He fumbled, which led to a TD. He got very little rushing. Late in the game, on 4th down, he stopped 2 yds short of the marker, caught the pass and was tackled 1 yd short. If he runs past the marker, we get the 1st.

Folk once again missed a critical FG. He is off right now. Of course, that long FG was foolish. I would have either gone for the Hail Mary or used Beuhler to kick it.

Scandrick and Ball couldnt cover or tackle anyone today. In fact, the whole defense had tackling issues today.

Our kick coverage was horrible. It was our worst effort of the year. They looked like a Coach Read group instead of a Coach D group out there today.

Spencer was offsides a few times and he ran himself right out of position on the Jacobs TD reception.

Finally, and I am not blaming them for the loss, yet I am frustrated with them...the referees. The Giants got zero holding penalties today. However, on the long Jacobs TD, Sensabaugh was clearly held. It was the same kind of hold that Butler was charged with on the long Felix KR. Also, on a few of our pass rush attempts, we were held mightily, allowing Eli to escape and find open WRs. I just wish the refs would call it a few times to keep em honest. But since they wont call it, the Giants continue to do it. The only other one that bugged me was the no call when Webster molested Roy Williams early in the game.

So today, Romo, Witten, Roy, Austin, Crayton, Ratliff, Jenkins, and Newman get a pass. The rest of the team laid a complete egg.

Dan must have cataracts. I'm no fan of silver linings, but Tony was positively heroic in this loss. I can point the finger at 30 other guys before I even get to the QB.

Romo was as responsible for this loss and Dan Patrick and any other ****** who even thinks Romo is our problem.

just curious as to your reasoning for giving Newman a pass?

Dan Patrick just brought up Las Vegas.

Ugh. Of course. They literally are there for one evening and then leave the next morning...all for a charity function. Then, Austin goes for over 100 yards and Romo throws for 400 and it's being brought up.

Wasnt he the one who had a chance to tackle Jacobs and whiffed?
