The Bills out schemed us. The Bills usually play hero ball with Allen. Give them credit.
The Bills Offense didn't out-scheme the Cowboys, they just ran the ball down the Cowboys throat...and Quinn's adjustments came wayyy too late into the game, because by that time, the defense was exhausted, beaten and borderline just gave up.
If the scheme is simply to "run the ball against the Cowboys, they can't stop it", then the Cowboys are toast until they can stop the run.
For the Cowboys offense, the Bills defense did indeed outplay and out-scheme the Cowboys. And with this kind of Dallas defense that needs turnovers OR the offense to get a lead to have any consistent success, then the pressure will
always be on Dak on the offense to score early and consistently to get a lead for the defense, for the team to have any success, especially on the road. Basically what it boils down to is that...we don't believe the defense as constructed today to have success
unless they can rush the passer and create havoc by getting after the QB. But in a close game when it's hard to create a lot of 3rd and longs because the opposing offense is committed to the run, what then?
I need to see more from Quinn, with scheming and adjustments, right from Play 1. They can't just sit back and play bend-but-don't-break early and let the team run all over the Cowboys Dee. That's bad coaching.
And the offense needs way more urgency and effectiveness on the road. The first drive
needs to result in points, so the 1st drive is not the time to "try a deep shot", wasting a precious down, unless the receiver is WIDE open.
And of course, they still need to minimize the penalties...all of those first-half penalties were critical, on both the offense AND defense. On the road, they have to be crisper, from the first snap.
