Dan Quinn or Sean Payton?

If Mike McCarthy is fired after this season, would you rather bring in Sean Payton or promote Dan Quinn to head coach?

DQ has totally transformed the Cowboys Defense so much so that regardless of how this season ends for the Cowboys, he's gonna be head coach somewhere. Part of me would rather it be here, even at the potential expense of potentially bringing in Sean Payton.

Thoughts?

Quinn likes to run his defense from up in the box so I’m not sure how he would like running his defense from the sideline as a head coach. Perhaps his number two assistant, forgot his name, might take over the defense from the box under Quinn‘s guidance. If that would work I’d be all in on Quinn. That being said I’d prefer McCarthy stay as head coach and Jerry just paid Quinn a lot of money to be the defensive coordinator.

If the Cowboys finish 12-4 but lose twice more to Philly who's to blame? I predict our offense will fail us this time. We keep Big Mike one more season then Payton assumes the duties. Meanwhile we lose Quinn this off season. Oh and KM gets to play OC one more season...

Why fire a coach that went 4-1 with a backup QB?

I just can't see justification for firing MM, unless this team has some monumental collapse. I know not everybody is a fan, but he's winning here, even with back QBs. I get everybody is concerned about winning in the postseason, so time will tell, but so far he has been doing his job.

If I have to choose I am taking Quinn. Quinn has been to a SB and if not for a dumb OC (who has done this twice now) chose to run the ball would be a SB winning HC. Also I don't think he had a lot of say in personnel decisions in ATL. Seems like he likes beef in the middle so sign me up for that.

Create a new role...Senior Head Coach advisor...promote McCarthy to that role and make Quinn the official Head Coach. Let McCarthy do press conferences, etc.

co head coaches or Payton as HC-Quinn as asst HC
Payton for Offensive side-Quinn Defense.
With our cap and another draft we would be good for a while

There are plenty of guys who could run this defense with success, some maybe better. There is a lot of talent on that side of the ball.

I'm wouldn't be worried about losing any of our staff under normal circumstances but it is the Jones boys so their is always concern.

I still don't get why people are even convinced Payton would come. He knows Jerry, and I can't imagine he would want a situation where an owner/GM controls areas he would want to control himself
