Create a new role...Senior Head Coach advisor...promote McCarthy to that role and make Quinn the official Head Coach. Let McCarthy do press conferences, etc.

Would Mike be up for that?

I'd say Quinn if it meant he could hire his own OC and play caller.

Sean is obviously a great NFL Coach with some skins on the wall, but I'm not interested in sending the Saints draft capital for him.

There are plenty of guys who could run this defense with success, some maybe better. There is a lot of talent on that side of the ball.

I'm wouldn't be worried about losing any of our staff under normal circumstances but it is the Jones boys so their is always concern.
So you want Rob Ryan back?

The Cowboys are 6-2 when the starting QB missed 5 games. Why is anyone talking about firing the coach? It’s just stupid. BTW does anyone remember Quinn’s run in Atlanta? It wasn’t great. Additionally take a look at Payton’s career. Remarkably similar to Big Mike’s. He is not a better coach.

If Mike McCarthy is fired after this season, would you rather bring in Sean Payton or promote Dan Quinn to head coach?

DQ has totally transformed the Cowboys Defense so much so that regardless of how this season ends for the Cowboys, he's gonna be head coach somewhere. Part of me would rather it be here, even at the potential expense of potentially bringing in Sean Payton.

Thoughts?

Your thread violated the Rooney rule and has been reported.

I disagree. I think Quinn's adaptability is what drives this defense. For instance, using Parsons in so many ways. A lot of DCs would have just left him in the LB role and missed out on all the brilliance.

It wasn't official, but the Dolphins did it in Jimmy's final season. They hired Jimmy's right hand man from Jimmy's Cowboys years, Dave Wannstedt as assistant HC and D-Coordinator, but Wannstedt functioned as the HC with Jimmy focusing on GM type responsibilities.

Jimmy had resign prior to that season but they convinced him to return. He hired Wannstedt and groomed him to take over the following season.

At this stage there’s probably a greater chance Biden wins an IQ competition vs a hundred Mensa members than McCarthy getting fired! I’d rather have Moore or hell even Garrett back rather than Payton. Don’t get the strange obsession with this mass underachiever of a coach???

Wouldnt be surprised at all if something like this has already been tentatively discussed and factored into DQs decision to stay. It's assuming a lot, but makes sense at the same time. I'm just not sure what MM's role would actually look like unless Jerry was seriously ready to take a step back. They already have a semi GM in McClay mashed up with Jerry/Stephen.

Same thing Andy Reid is going through right now. Got a great QB, and suddenly he's a great HC.

Why would Jerry fire a SB winning coach...oh, wait, it happened before...never mind...

Keep MM.
Same to be said why wouldn't he hire a SB winning coach?. Doesn't matter if he's done it before if he doesn't do it here. With that being said I think he can lead us there.

Payton will not come here unless he has control like the tuna and we saw how much Uncle Jed liked that, not ever happening again. Took to much camera and interview time away from the man who loves to see himself out front.
