Twitter: Dan Reeves dies

RIP #30 Dan Reeves. I had forgotten he was a coach. My first memory of him is as a Cowboy’s RB and always will be. :(

I'm very sad. I really liked him, I assume everyone did, he was one of those types.
My resume is so impressive. I did not know he was all pro as a player. As coordinator his Cowboys led the league in scoring twice.
He is 10th all time in wins (or 9th, I heard 2 things)

Reeves is the embodiment, the poster child, of the fact that you need that Super Bowl win to get in to the Hall of Fame.
His coaching career was way better than Tom Flores and Bill Cowher, much better
But Reeves doesn't even get mentioned in conversations come HOF voting time.
I meant to say his resume is so impressive of course

I did not know this:

"After negotiations with the Dallas Cowboys (which, coincidentally, had [Wade] Phillips as their head coach), Reeves became a consultant for the team in February 2009. This role was short-lived, however, as it only lasted two days before Reeves turned in the keys to his office and left. Reeves and the Cowboys could apparently not reach conclusions as to Reeves's role with the team. In the days following, it was revealed that the dispute came down to a contract clause specifying a number of hours per week to be worked, which Reeves deemed insulting."

Welp, there’s the third. Hopefully, we won’t see any more notable deaths for awhile

This will get overlooked because of Madden and Betty White ........ but the NFL and the world just lost a great coach and human being.

this past week has been really rough with celebrity losses .. Madden,... Betty White .... Dan Reeves ....

Thoughts, condolences, prayers to Reeves' loved ones.

Rest In Peace Dan.

Super Bowls wins would be the difference between Flores/Cowher, imo

but if Buffalo's Marv Levy, (who also like Reeves has made 3 different trips to the SB) , is in
the Pro Football Hall of Fame ..then why isn't Dan Reeves ? .

RIP coach. Player coach during the 5 SB appearences....took Broncos to 3 and Falcons to one. Great resume, people are being put in HOF for accomplishing less... will always be a Cowboy to me.

Prayers to his family.

First, Madden, then Betty White, now Dan Reeves. What a crappy Holiday week.
Two of the greatest NFL coaches, and one of the funniest women in show business ever.
I remember White appearing on her husband's (Allen Ludden) TV game show 'Password'.
