Agree. I like Goff a lot. Kid looks like he could be a top ten starter in this league.

I personally believe that's who the Cowboys are targeting. Because the Browns are so cursed as an organization, I feel it will work out for us either way. They take Wentz, then Goff will be the better prospect because the Browns will screw him up by playing him too soon. If the Browns take Goff, that leaves Wentz for us to groom a few years. I think it would be dangerous to start Wentz in Year 1. Year 3? He will have just enough bench seasoning behind Romo to become a better quarterback when he does start.

P.S. I would hate for the Giants to get Ezekiel Elliott. He, OBJ and Eli would be the next set of triplets. :(

Oh, and I doubt very seriously Braxton Miller makes it into the first round. He's still a project despite his speed. Then again, the Jags took Matt Jones in the first a few years back. :omg:

I would rather trade back in this scenario and pick up Goff or Lynch. After our pick, there are no other qB hungry teams until 13 and the eagles pick.

If you like the QB, take him. Trading back and potentially having another team sneak in and crab him from underneath you would feel awful!

You are spot on with Zeke, that would be bad news!

How good is Jack? Say compared to Shazier who we all know we were in love with two years ago

I sort of subscribe to the jimmy Johnson theory of linebackers in a 4-3. Not that important.

The Giants are in a good spot in this draft to nab a good pass rusher too, like Spence or Lawson as well. Won't be happy if they get either of them or Elliott. I would much rather them take an offensive lineman.

The opposite has been true since Eberflus has been around. He seems to have an awful lot of influence each draft day.

I am ok with that. But at the same time, i want to look at all the options. I have Lynch, Goff and Wentz all rated close to the same, and I can move back 4-5 spots and pick up a couple other high picks and still get one of the 3, I am happy to do that. I am not saying we should go back 10 spots, but a simple move back, pick up a top 10 player and a second rd pick. I am good with that as well.

CLE will take a QB this draft, but don't assume it's at #2.

2. Cleveland Browns
CLE.png
Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State: Hue Jackson has made it clear that the most important task for the Browns this offseason is to find a quarterback. And although Wentz lacks ideal experience coming from the FCS level, he is the total package in terms of athletic and personal traits. With Josh McCown under contract for the 2016 season, Wentz won't be pressed onto the field from Day One.

We have to go get Wentz.

Myles Jack has to be a super stud LB for us to ever validate not getting Wentz.

I hope Carson Wentz tells Cleveland straight up that he is not interested in going there and to pass on him.

I would be EXTREMELY worried if our scouting department cannot decide which QB they really want and have this cop out of "they are all about the same and we'll take whoever comes to us.". To me that's bad scouting. I want my scouts have conviction to stand up on the table pounding for his (their) guy to be picked.
If they rate all three equal.... to me that mean none of they are special at all. Might as well not pick up....

If our scouts feel that none are special or the guy we one is picked then I rather trade back slightly (if we can find a dancing partner) and pick up Spence to shore up our DL. And maybe consider trading back into round 1 for Elliiott if he's within reach.

What if you have some scouts banging on the table for Wentz and others banging on the table for Goff? That does not mean neither are special...could mean both are pretty darn good QBs.

Two players can be graded similarly at the same position. And I darn sure don't want JJ to get hoodwinked into giving up too much to move up to 1 or 2.

Funny you mention that, when Dane had CLE taking Goff in his previous mocks, it was his pro-ready ability that supported the selection.

Now that it is Wentz: "With Josh McCown under contract for the 2016 season, Wentz won't be pressed onto the field from Day One."

lol, I'm sure the Browns are comfortable with that. I believe McCown was sacked 23 times in 292 attempts (almost a 13% clip) last season and had 4 INTs, and 9 fumbles (6 lost) compared to only 12 TDs in 8 games.

Jack has all the tools, especially dynamic play making ability and elite athleticism.

He can cover, play the run and has flex, truly the type pf player Eberflus would love.

The question will be do the Cowboys have him in their top 5? I have no idea.
