Teams that likely will pass Dallas in the draft order:

Cincy - Burrow coming back early
Falcons - team has talent, just needs to finish games
Dolphins - playing better somehow
Cardinals - not sure here, but they already did beat Dallas - so there is that



That would put them in the top 10 - maybe could have a shot at him. Gonna need 4 QBs to jump into top 10.

I'm kind of torn on this.... I mean if I can get a guy like Blankship around 10 million, I was strongly consider that rather than investing the first first round pick on a safety

Folks need to stop thinking Downs = Ed Reed

Reed was a traditional deeeeeeeeep safety. Downs makes most of his impact coming down into the box.

That’s not to say we couldn’t use a guy like him but the comps to Reed are wild.

I would say, he strikes me as someone the Cowboys would. He presents well, sounds like a leader, and looks to be a genuine good person.

This board isn't the best at evaluating safeties. We had many saying that Kyle Hamilton was too slow and not athletic enough to be a legitimate, top level safety in this league. He is well on his way to this 3rd All Pro award this year in 4 years in the league.

Agreed. We have so many holes that it would irk me a bit if we just let Pickens walk creating yet another hole that they will be itching to fill with a high pick. Having no 3rd or 2nd round picks, we can't head into the draft with a bunch of high level needs and only two prime picks (although I could see us trading down to try to grab another 2nd or 3rd rounder).

I get it, that's a lot tied up in WRs, but I think you still have to do it (again assuming Pickens doesn't melt down here at some point, which I guess is possible).

Use those first three picks on the trenches/LB. I know we have invested a lot in the OL with high picks but Steele stinks so if there is a RT available early, I am on board with taking him (or a true LT and we can then shift Guyton over to the right side).

I am doubting Pickens leaves. Jerry likes to double down on draft picks and players he traded for. And this one is actually very, very good.
