must be painful for my dad. He wanted to draft that kid pretty bad.

Not anywhere near as painful as the smacking he gets by the rest of the mod squad. :laugh2:

Am I the only one who thinks Monk just must not have the stuff?

Undrafted, cut this early, maybe the NFL knows something we refuse to acknowledge.
I questioned Marcus Monk's quickness for the position at the NFL level.

Figured a team would try him as a hybrid tight end/h-back for the passing game and see if he could contribute on special teams.

can someone explain to me why monk suddenly became more popular than amendola, who was a lock to make the team after a couple of catches.

he went out of style pretty quick. now let him go, we have todays IGS fix on tap.

I wasn't sure of the whole signing and practice squad and active roster stuff went.

From the Pro Football Weekly 2008 Draft Review "Could not run away from anyone and moved like an 80-year-old man with arthritis during his senior season." ... Ouch!

Does that mean we passed on him or the are the waiver positions determined by record? I thought if you win the SB you got the last waiver position?
Via Mickey Spagnola, who you can listen to in DCF's latest thread, the waiver claim process is based on regular season record.

So the Giants would be ahead of us in the pecking order.

Let's get this straight. The guy could not get past 1st cuts from the freakin' BEARS!?!?!.....and we could use him? The Bears with Devin Hester as their probable #1 battling that spot out with Marty Booker? The Bears, with Million dollar man Brandon Lloyd STILL on their roster? The guys must really suck.

The Giants probably want to look closer at Monk to see if he is worthy of a practice squad spot.

I am trying to sort this out. Is it correct that once a player is cut and clears waivers then any team can sign them to their practice squad? It doesn't have to be limited to the team that initially cut them.

this is the deal on marcus monk; he is a big physical wr, at 6-6 about 224, with average speed, but that maybe due to his knee injury;

thats one of the reasons he fell in the draft, his knee injury

in the nfl draft, he was one of the sleepers picks that could surprise,

he is a real good target in the red zone;

at arkansas, very few passes were thrown due to mcfadden and felix jones running the football, along with peyton hills running the ball too

so this guy could be on a practice squad, get some real good teaching like miles austin did, then boom, you may have a real good wr prospect.

as someone posted, and i asked mickey spags on sports talk on david smoak show, how come the giants got him ahead of us, and mickey said it was due to the won loss record, which we beat the giants,

that doesnt seem right, but thats how the cookie crumbles

i still like todd the wr the cowboys have, but he has a tough chore to stay on the team, if he does anything todd lowber that is, thursday night, you can be sure some team like miami or the giants will look at him.
