If those are the two options, I choose ‘start over’.

Jones isn’t worth close to that amount.

And the Giants succeeded due to team effort, not Jones carrying everything.
You seem concerned that the Giants will screw this up.

Not at all.

He’s not getting $45 million. Not from them, not from anyone else.

They can take him for two years and pay far less than $45 million a year.

That buys them time to find their next guy.

I think teams are starting to realize that ‘today’s market’ is totally out of whack and teams just need to start setting limits and saying no.
Don’t think it will ever happen. Supply and demand.

You either pay the $40-45 million for guys like Dak, Jones, Carr and hope to strike lighting in a bottle.

Or you turn to irrelevant with guys like Davis Mills, Jarrett Stidham etc.

LOL LOL ....go for it DJ. I don't blame you one bit. They didn't think enough to offer you 5th option, but now wanna be your best friend (lol). What's funny I just read Barkley is playing hardball also. Word is, they have sent out feelers in $12M ranger but he wants $15-16M. Only one tag....something gotta give.....love it

I mean should those weapons be demanding top dollar contracts? Or their average defenders? He was not impressive in any way and did nothing to suggest he is even above the Kirk Cousins line but he wants a top 5 contract.
You seem to be mixing apples and oranges. I completely agree that most of their team is mediocre. Someone carried them to the playoffs. That someone was Jones. Largely by being an excellent runner. I clearly said I don't see him as being worthy of those $'s BUT like a RB who doesn't want to get used up and dumped, I can see why he wants to force them to commit or go somewhere else.

I see teams getting out’ from the cycle.

Seattle traded Wilson away and we’re still competitive. Certainly more than the Broncos.

Las Vegas is done with Carr.

Green Bay will likely trade Rodgers and go young.

Philadelphia nearly won the Super Bowl with a QB under his rookie deal.

Times are a changing.

This or they are no longer letting the position or player hold them hostage with extensions or 3rd big contracts with some serious post-season runs. Arron Rogers has cleared over $200M from the Packers for 1 Super Bowl. I hate to say it but the Eagles are a dif template that can get by for a few years .....,.load up on talent in other positions and you don't need your QB to do much.

45 Million per year

For Daniel Jones...???

45 Million?....he did have a good year this year especially rushing but passing wise dude imo is average

his whole career combined would be outstanding if he was a 5th or 6th rounder

it would be a hard NO

They are in the same position as the Cowboys were/are. Deciding on what to pay a flawed QB who will never be anything more.

I hope they cave and overpay.

I hear what you’re saying. But I don’t agree with a few of those.

Geno Smiths market value is

Contract: Four years, $150 million ($37.5 million/year), $112.5 million guaranteed.

Same with Hurts. He was just on a rookie deal and will get a crap ton of money.

Rodgers is all smoke and mirrors. Unless the Jets blow them away he will remain a Packer.

With Carr, he wasn’t getting them to the next step. But they will likely end up with a tier two guy like Gardner Minshew.

Lol they'd be dumb ** to offer him that. I'm surprised they don't go after Carr
Carr has been inconsistent his entire career and hasn’t won crap. He was given one of the best receivers in the game and still couldn’t win. The arrows are pointing up on Daniel Jones and pointing down on Derek Carr. He’s been on the chopping block for years and it finally happened. I wouldn’t pay Daniel Jones 45 million per but the Giants would get worse with Carr. Some of you just love castoff QBs. If it was up to most of the fans on this board the Cowboys would be stuck with one.

So lets say the Giants do sign him at 45 per year (which i doubt they will, and Jones more than likely is going high to settle at what he really wants)

exactly what is Joe Burrow going to command after his rookie deal is up? i mean He would have every right to ask for 70 million per year
