Carr has been inconsistent his entire career and hasn’t won crap. He was given one of the best receivers in the game and still couldn’t win. The arrows are pointing up on Daniel Jones and pointing down on Derek Carr. He’s been on the chopping block for years and it finally happened. I wouldn’t pay Daniel Jones 45 million per but the Giants would get worse with Carr. Some of you just love castoff QBs. If it was up to most of the fans on this board the Cowboys would be stuck with one.
Pointing up? He threw 15 TD passes this season, is this the 70s or what?

LOL LOL ....go for it DJ. I don't blame you one bit. They didn't think enough to offer you 5th option, but now wanna be your best friend (lol). What's funny I just read Barkley is playing hardball also. Word is, they have sent out feelers in $12M ranger but he wants $15-16M. Only one tag....something gotta give.....love it
They will either tag Jones and let Barkley walk or sign Jones at 45 per year

I see teams getting out’ from the cycle.

Seattle traded Wilson away and we’re still competitive. Certainly more than the Broncos.

Las Vegas is done with Carr.

Green Bay will likely trade Rodgers and go young.

Philadelphia nearly won the Super Bowl with a QB under his rookie deal.

Times are a changing.
Now Philly gets to pay 50 million per year for their qb. Now we get to see their gm in action.

Carr and Jones being valued at 40 plus million per, that tells me that ready to play bus drivers like Kenny Pickett that can be had outside the top 10 are about the most valuable things out there.

It shouldn’t be that difficult to turn that around every five years.

I can also see how it would be if you don’t even try.

Jones isn't even as good as Dak. He's lucky he finally had a good coach this year but he is still less then mediocre.
I think the point is ..........w/o Jones, what are their options. He has them moving in the right direction. They can either pay him or reset the position and start over.

Not at all.

He’s not getting $45 million. Not from them, not from anyone else.

They can take him for two years and pay far less than $45 million a year.

That buys them time to find their next guy.
He just declines that and plays on the tag.

The Jets thought it wasn't difficult with their top 2 pick.

But Stash.........Seahawks now have to Geno $40-45M and the Eagles are looking at $45-50M for Hurts. Point is, if you win, you either pay the piper or recycle/reset the position with a cheaper guy.

Good for him. He has as much leverage now as he may ever have in his career. He'll probably get the contract he's looking for.

Jones was in a make or break season and had the best season of his career. He had career highs in yards and passer rating and he only threw five INT’s. Plus, he led the Giants to the playoffs and won a playoff game. He may have only had 15 TD passes, but he rushed over 700 yards with seven rushing TDs. Some of his lack of TD throws was due to Saquon Barkley having a career year with over 1300 yards and 10 rushing TDs and the Giants were trying to limit his mistakes this season. Don’t know why the Giants would want to move on from Jones and go with Derek Carr who’s been inconsistent his entire career and is clearly on the downswing. Carr has a losing QB record and has never won a playoff game. He’s only led the Raiders to the playoffs twice. He got cut for crying out loud. Lol
