Shawn Oakman - 6'8 287 lbs (Baylor)
Positives: Can't teach his size and length, very rare. Use his arms to control blockers especially in the run game. Does a really nice job of setting the edge. Coaches will love the natural traits that they can coach up.
Negatives: Frustrating player to watch, don't see a lot of 'WANT.' Gives up constantly on plays. So slow to react at ball snap. Doesn't play with power or explosiveness. Lacks power in his lower body, so tiny in his legs and ankles. Plays too upright, allows blocks to easily get under his pad level to stop him in his tracks. Hot and cold player, so inconsistent. Can't disengage from blockers, gets stuck constantly. Shows very to little if any pass rush moves.
Where He Fits and My Opinion: A project in every sense of the word. Needs to get considerably stronger especially in his lower body. I don't see as more then a mid round player with potential to get better with time. Wasn't impressed at all. So frustrating on tape.

Carl Nassib - 6'7 277 lbs (Penn State)
Positives: Scheme versatility, can LDE in our scheme or a 5 tech in a 3-4. Outstanding size and length. Nonstop motor and pursuit, guy plays his butt off every play. A load to handle, gets double teamed almost every play. Outstanding against the run. Better movement skills then you would expect for a guy so big. Affects so many plays in a variety of ways. Disciplined, smart football player. Does a really nice job timing and jumping the snap count at times.
Negatives: Doesn't have the best balance, on the ground a lot. Never going to be a great pass rusher.
Where He Fits and My Opinion: The fact that the offense constantly doubles and even triple teams him at times shows me how good he is. I really really really like this kid. Call me crazy, but I don't see a huge difference between him and Bosa they are SO close. I see Nassib affect games more then Bosa does. He would be a LDE in our scheme but can move inside on the nickel. Outstanding football player.

Ronald Blair - 6'2 285 lbs (App State)
Positives: Powerful guy who is built very solidly. Can move all over the line, has absolute versatility. Plays as RDE, LDE, even as nose tackle with 3 man line. Has an endless motor that never stops. Shows a really nice ability to shed blockers, rarely will get stuck on guys. Stays on his feet and continues to fight through blockers.
Negatives: Don't see a fast twitch guy, that was evident in the way he ran at combine. Doesn't move great, nor have very good catchup speed when in pursuit. Needs to develop more pass rush moves, plays without a purpose too often.
Where He Fits and My Opinion: Would like to see lose 10-15 lbs and play as a LDE in our scheme. Has the body and power for it. 1 of my favorites, gotta love that he's a former walk on. Noting going to find many harder workers than him. He quietly had a great combine too. Hopefully he's a target for us at 34. Who would you take Ogbah or Nassib?

Wow thats tough... Honestly I would go Nassib. The kinda guy you want on your defense. There's no bust potential with him, he at the very very least will be very very solid.

Will you be getting to the secondary this week? I would like to see what you think of Justin Simmons of Boston College. Seems like a player that we could take a flyer on in the 6th round if he's still there.

Shilique Calhoun - 6'4 249 lbs (Michigan State)
Positives: Excellent size and length. Really knows how to use his long arms to disrupts passes and get his hands on balls. Can play on the right or left side. Good player against the run. Good balance, stays on his feet. Does not a nice job using his arms to get inside and get tackles off balanced. Strong for his size, and will continue to get stronger.
Negatives: Not a great pass rusher. Gets stuck on blocks, can't get off blockers. Don't see athleticism, or a great get off. Like to see him develop more pass rush moves.
Where He Fits and My Opinion: OK player, don't see anything overly exciting. I don't see that one trait or characteristic about the player that gets me excited. Just OK in every sense of the word. Don't see more then a 4th or 5th rounder.

btw Dan i read your Prescott writeup and you again hit it on the nail.the sacks he takes while staring at the defender coming at him is confounding.I l also contend that his arm strength is not good enough and maybe he doesnt even trust it.

Leonard Floyd - 6'6 244 lbs (Georgia)
Positives: Moved all over the place in Georgia's defense. Outstanding size and length. Mostly played as a middle linebacker and then would rush standing up in the nickel. Extremely athletic, good first step quickness. Showed an ability to cover and did not look lost at all. Really good flexibility, and is a natural waist bender get around the edge. Shows an ability to convert his speed to power in bull rushing tackles. Shows a variety of pass rush moves. Rushed from both left and right sides.
Negatives: Might be more desirable to 3-4 teams to play outside linebacker. Like to see him get a little stronger and have a little more impact in the run game. Can't get off blocks in the run game. Sometimes has a little difficulty bringing ball carriers to the ground.
Where He Fits and My Opinion: As a rookie I think he can have a Randy Gregory type of role on a defense in the nickel. I imagine he is going to be a hot commodity for 3-4 teams. One of the best pure pass rushers I have seen in this draft. I really think this kid has a chance to be really really special if he spends an offseason in the workout room. He rushes mostly standing up, but does some with his hands on the ground. Looks good doing it both ways. Would love this kid to play for us, just doubt we do it.

Positives: Plays with power, especially in his lower body. Really drives with his legs. A force in the run game, offenses continually double him in the run game. Can play on the right side or left side. Outstanding motor, plays hard on every single snap. Does a really nice job setting the edge. Shows really heavy hands allowing him to get inside leverage on offensive tackles. Captain of the team and outstanding intangibles and football smarts.
Negatives: Whiffs on a lot of tackles. Doesn't possess great athleticism or burst when rushing. Don't believe he possesses elite pass rushing characteristics. If he's going to play in our scheme, will still need to get stronger.

Positives: Outstanding athlete, better then our Boise players. (Lawrence or Crawford) This kid has the potential to be an outstanding pass rusher. Shows really good bend, and flexibility to grab the edge. Nonstop motor, guys fights his butt off. Rushes standing up, hand on the ground, left side, right side, it doesn't matter. Has a knack for blitzing when used as a linebacker, knows where to find openings.
Negatives: Don't see a guy that plays with power, once he gets initially blocked he gets stuck. Don't see a guy that turns speed into power, gains very little ground on his power rushes. Does little against the run. Probably best used as a 3-4 outside linebacker. Didn't play against outstanding competition.

Robert Nkemdiche - 6'3 294 lbs (Ole Miss)
Positives: Kid is an absolute freak athlete. Never gets stopped in his tracks so powerful. Have seen him just throw guys to the ground like they were nothing. Impacts so many plays that aren't on the stats sheet. Has a really good first step. Times the snap count at times getting so much penetration in the backfield. Can move all over the defensive line and be disruptive. His ceiling is HUGE and he's only going to get better each year.
Negatives: For being as talented as he is, his stats are very underwhelming. His off the field issues are a huge question mark. His ball awareness at times isn't very good.
Where He Fits and My Opinion: This kid is a top 5 talent in this draft. Has the potential to be the best player in this draft. WOW. If I were the Cowboys I would do so much investigative work on this kid. He can be a 10+ sack player in the NFL rushing from the inside. Absolutely love what I see, and to think he's going to be a much better player in the NFL then he was in college.

I went and looked at some film and Nassib is my new pet cat. I liked that out coaches got a good look at him at the Senior Bowl. He seemed to practice well there. Do you think he is a day 1 starter? I think one year getting second team reps behind a vet like Long would be ideal.

A'Shawn Robinson - 6'4 307 lbs (Alabama)
Positives: More of an athletic 1 technique with a nice first step. Really good length and size. Violent hands and uses them powerfully to shed blockers. Scheme versatility, played as RDE in a 3-4 and 1 tech and a 3 tech in 4 man line, Alabama moved him around. Will certainly occupy multiple blockers. Outstanding motor, fights and fights, never gives up on plays. Very well proportioned and muscular 307 pounds, not soft at all. Moves nicely for guy his size.
Negatives: Doesn't make enough plays for me. You can argue he disrupts plays, but it is rare to see him making a stop in backfield or making lot of tackles. Not going to give you a whole lot in pass rush department. Not an overly powerful dominant, run clogging 1 tech.
Where He Fits and My Opinion: While I like seeing the athleticism and the lean physique, you would expect to see more in the pass rush department, but it isn't there. Nor does he clog the middle and stop a ton of run plays like you would want from a 1 tech. He certainly has some upside, and can get stronger and better at the next level, but I would pass on him. Andrew Billings - 6'1 311 lbs (Baylor)
Positives: Talk about a powerful man! Just an absolute animal, have seen him a few times just throws offensive lineman to the ground. His arms and hands are so strong. Very rare that you see an lineman just sit on him, he always gets movement even if it against 2 guys. Fights and battles through double teams. Does a really nice job at timing the snap count on occasion and getting that jump.
Negatives: Moves like he is stuck in quick sand, not the athletic type. Not the most agile guy in the world, side to side isn't good. Can get into too many personal battles at times. Can struggle against a moving, slanted front.
Where He Fits and My Opinion: If your looking for a young Vince Wilfork this is your guy. Probably not a 3 down player, but he is a really really good 1 tech.
