He played 87% of the snaps in 2022.

Pure 1techs generally play less than 60%.

He had 11-1/2 sacks in 2022. Has a pure 1tech every had that many sacks?

DLaw: In order to get him to take a pay cut (before the 2021 season) they guaranteed his contract for 3 years from that point forward.

Daron Payne: Yes, he would be the perfect DT for the Cowboys.
How much would we be willing/able to pay Daron Payne? What would it take to sign him? 20-25 million a year?
Noooooo
DT don't cost that much

Galli was absolutely terrible this year, there is no chance he is with the team this year.
Anyone got an educated theory on what happened to Gallimore this year? He seemed to have something as a rookie.

This organization doesn't know whats good for them. They should have tried and traded for Daron Payne. But all they did was sit on their butts making excuses that "they like their guys."

It costs 19 million to franchise one.
Especially one that gets 11.5 sacks a year.
It shouldn’t cost that much for a DT. However, the Cowboys have been unable to draft and develop a good one.
Not unable and develop one. They flat out don't care for that position.

I will say this though: it is no coincidence that his best year came in a contract year. He has been accused (by Washington fans) of not always playing at 100% full effort. I’m not sure how true that is, but it gives me pause before giving him a huge free agency contract.
How many of our guys have been wrongfully accused of the same thing?

He’d be really good here. Just can’t get myself into actually believing they’d pay for him. And no reason to cut d law he’s coming off his best season in awhile.

#1 Should Daron Payne be our number one target in free agency?
#2 Is he a true 1 technique or more of a 3 technique?
#3 Would we cut/trade DLaw to make cap room for Payne? DLaw is still a solid end, but is he worth his super star salary?
#4 Would Daron Payne help take our defense to the next level?

#1 yes but will we generate that much money into a player?? We see him play often why not, I say get him they can have Zeke

Once hes paid this board will hate him

Not in his first season that's the grace period it's around season 3 where we argue he got paid too much when in essence we had to pay a lot because he was the high ticket in free agency that summer

Washington would be dumb to let him hit FA, unrestricted.

Tag him, non excusive and work out a trade.

If he's willing to play for Hankin's money fine, else pass him by.

I thought he would have a good year. Only guess is he put I n weight to be more of a 1 tech and he just wasn't that. Got blown off the balk consistently.

Dt and safety
We really struggled with finding decent ones.
Thankfully, Quinn has bought in some decent safeties.
If can just get some decent DTs

1. Yes.
2. Not sure. Others would know more.
3. We don't want to cut DLaw. Plus his dead cap is 35M. So we wouldn't be able to make room.
4. I absolutely think that would be a step forward.

Payne is a 20M market value player. He's probably going to get more in FA. The only thing more unlikely to happen than us signing him, is me becoming the next President of the United States. And that might be debatable.

The Cowboys don't search for a great player in FA, they only fill holes. Like if you bought a product that said batteries not included. The Cowboys FA is buying the batteries, not buying another product.

Please, I don't want to hear about a June 1st cut. People bring that up with every player. Teams are only allowed 1 or 2 June first cuts. You can't do that with anyone you want. Stop bringing it up.

No money if saved if you cut DLAW due to the restructures. He will be on the roster for at lest 2 more seasons.
