Here's to hoping, but it's hard to have too much faith in a guy who's only made it through one 16 game season.

Man I hope I'm wrong about this guy. I admit, I love the way he runs but he has been as unreliable as they come.

He is a Cowboy now. Time to start over. I can see him catching a lot of balls coming out of the backfield for big gains.

I'm not even close to worried about our RB's, we'll figure it out and if not, there is next years draft.

No doubt, which is why I had no problem letting Murray walk; didn't trust him to stay healthy.

Yep which is why its not crazy to think we cant get something similar out of RUN DMC for a season. of course with less rushes than murry. I'm not too worried about our run game. we will get it figured out and the rest of the nfl will hate us so much more lol

I don't see any way he gets to biggest workload. Randle is a far supirior runner. At this stage in his career McFadden is a 3rd down back. And I think he will be a very good one

But for pass blocking, McFadden is better. And as a receiver too out of the backfield. If Randle shows improvement, then he starts.

All kidding aside, Murray did do it as a lead back, Darren did it as a "RBBC" back.

yep and thats what Darren will be apart of here. he wont get nearly as many rushes as murry. He should be fine. especially behind this line. the elite pass game helps as well. no more stacking the box to stop RUN DMC all game anymore.

Pass blocking and receiving is why I think McFadden will be the third down. And with limited carrys he could be a threat for 10+ on shotgun draws. I believe belive Randle will get the bulk of run down carries. I agree with on the pas blocking point that coukd get McFadden on the field, but I think is good enough there that teams have to respect the pass on run downs

It's an open job. I thought most here would be happy RWilliams will now be given an opportunity to not only get a roster spot, but compete for a starting job. But a lot here are obsessed we didn't draft the shiny new rb toy. McFadden, Randle, Williams all are gonna fight for that starting spot. Should be interesting.

R Williams doesn't generate any excitement due to his inability to stay healthy, but at least with him there is some hope that he has something in his tank. Even if he is healthy during the early season, most fans are just waiting for the injury to happen. I think you are confusing fans being obsessed with fans expressing concern and there is plenty of reasons to have some major concerns about the lack of RB talent.

I am going to start looking at the RB class for the next draft. I have s strong feeling that the team will need one or two for the roster.

Ok. I know some will jump on this pro and con.

I would like to take a different approach though.

Reply to this thread as if you were one of the offensive coaches .... In a WW(insert coaches initials here)do?

It could even be an offensive coach from a different team.

We have enough fan opinion....

What do you think an offensive coach can plan or scheme to not only make DMF successful but to resurrect a career that started in the dumps?

Having better offensive minds, a better organization and a better supporting cast has to give Darren some sort of chance to be the player many believed he could be coming out of the draft yes?

Think about this... If we drafted him in 2008, he would be our 6-7th year starter.

Not going to act like I am a coach because I am not. But I will make a case for him.
I think DMAC is going to surprise a lot of people.
4 reasons.
1. He has always wanted to be a Dallas Cowboy and is now out of that crappy organization where players go to never be seen again.
He is surrounded be a great team and great leaders who are playing for something and will push him to his limits. he will be a part of something special here and this coaching staff will get the most of him.
2. I think McFadden comes in with a chip on his shoulder.
3. He has never had a o-line like this, he just needs lanes, that is where he will excel.
4. If you have paid attention you will hear little things Garrett has said in the past, he likes his backs to hit the run play called and get what is there.
This matches McFadden perfect because he does not have to rely on average vision. DMAC has speed and burst that Murray did not have. I think you will see McFadden have more big runs per rush attempt than Murray.

I thinks the biggest question mark is those tough grind out and short yardage runs, but I also think people will be surprised here as well.
Randle and Williams are much better at this than people think. The question is can they be a work horse, however they do not have to.
We can use them all.

Despite what many people and media think we will run the ball and we will be very effective. We may not have the league leader in rushing, but I bet we are one of the best rushing teams, and the media will look like fools again.
